WHITE WOMEN AND BLACK MEN: STEREOTYPES AND MYTHS: Dangerous Breeds

No, I'm not talking about women. I was given a rather upsetting letter today from my insurance company that is reminding me that as a homeowner my insurance coverage could be in jeopardy, because of my dogs.

What I was not aware of until today is that several nationwide insurance firms are refusing to cover dog bites (someone bitten on your property, what about the thiefs?). Rather than facing possible claims, they are warning owners of certain breeds that they could lose their homeowners coverage. Have any of you experience the same thing?

I have a German Shepherd (outside frontline defense) and a Doberman Pinscher (inside home defense). My oldest daughter just bought a German bred Rottweiler puppy for my granddaughter Jasmine, to serve as her guardian. She has not heard from her insuance company, yet.

In case you like to know, the breeds that are on the Nationwide Insurance List are:

The Chow Chow

Pit Bull Terrier

Rotteiler

Doberman Pinscher

American Staffordshire Terrier

Austrailian Dingo

Husky

Malmute

German Shepherd

Note: I cannot remember its name, but that breed of herd dog from the Canary Islands that ripped that woman's throat out and killed her in San Francisco recently. If you are not aware of this I think you should check it out. I take this position, its not the dog honey, its the owner, just like owning a gun. Peace ~ Roberto
