Move to Europe or Austrailia?

WHITE WOMEN AND BLACK MEN: CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN BLACK MEN AND WHITE WOMEN: Move to Europe or Austrailia?

It's probably for the same reason Seattle has the highest suicide rate in the U.S. It's the constant gloomy weather.

Didn't the Neatherlands recently legalize Euthanasia? I believe they did. I certainly do not want to live in a country where that is the norm. What a convenient way to rid society of it's unwanted members in the population. So what if they are tolerant of IR couples. Also, that part of the world has one of the highest suicide rates. Something is going on that isn't right.

Roberto,

Thanks for the compliment. I am not worthy of the praise, it is God who calls me. If it were up to me I know that I would squander my miserable life on my selfish self. I know me. So I stay in prayer and busy helping others, and I have never regretted a day.

There will always be those who try and take more than someone else and get something for nothing. I will say that I do believe in compassion christianity and compassionate concervatism. I have to love others, it is who I am, no matter what they do or say.

Peace be with you and yours.

I commend you on the work that you do to improve the lives of others. I wish that my own life was different in that I could be more more sympathetic to others. The problem I find today is that as you extend a hand out to help others, too many want to grab your hand and never let go to fend for themselves. ~ Roberto

Roberto,

I agree with you on everything that you have said. The Neatherlands is definitely the place where more tolerance is found toward IRs. France is also pretty tolerant, as well as someplaces in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.

I hope to take a working sabbattical from my job in the near future and go to Holland(Amsterdam) and throughout the Neatherlands to study the Social Services Organizations for the Homeless, Drug and Alcohol, psychiatric treatment, and housing. I also want to study Denmarks Progressive co-housing views, Car free societies and cycling cities and how they add to the quality of life. Hope to be able to publish in the Alternative journal in Canada and other progressive magazines here.

America really is an ironic nation. Contradictions seem to define the very essence of America.

Damn. I've got to go to Australia and check out the ladies! The black man gets no love here in Amerikkka.

I regularly chat with this dude that lives in Australia, and he says that there is racism there, but it is directly mostly against Asians, while black people are treated very well there. I read somewhere else that girls, both Asian and white, seem to really like black guys down there.

Europe was always much more tolerant, and African slaves in Europe did not face anywhere near the same restrictions that America slaves did. Also, Europe never had to fight a Civil War and experience reconstruction. And Europe's economy was not as dependent on slave labor as America's. As a result of all of this, a deep hatred remained in America. In both World Wars, black soldiers found that they were treated much better in Europe than at home. In fact, they were treated as well as white American soldiers. White America tried to persuade Europe, but they did not listen. Many black soldiers stayed in Europe, and many blacks moved there, such as Josephine Baker, who was treated as a Queen in France, and became the American version of Marilyn Monroe. In Germany before the rise of Hitler, blacks were treated very well. Even during the Nazi occupation, blacks were treated arguably better than back in Mississippi during the same period. The reaction to Jesse Owen's win in Germany was evidence of this. Jesse Owens made many good friends in Germany. During the second world war, black soldiers were also treated the same as the white soldiers by the other nations, so there was a fair amount of mixing going on during the war. I took a trip to New Zealand when I was 15, any me, and my family noticed how I was constantly checked out and flirted on by the teens (who were white, Maori, and Asian). It was a weird (but nice) experience. Malcolm X himself was surprised at how well he was treated outside America, and that led to his second "Awakening" before his assassination.

I lived in Europe for twelve years when I served in the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE). I can tell you this and that is you are right on the mark. I lived primarly in Germany for most of that time. There is indeed a great deal of tolerance for interracial unions in places of Europe, especially those nations who were formal colonial powers of the past. My own experience is that I found European women to be socially and culturally global in their thinking. There is so much that I would like to say on this subject, but I will save much for discussions later. But I will say this, the emergence of racist movements in Europe as a result of the fall of the Berlin Wall, ethnic strifes in the Balkans, the social breakup of Russia, and the increased immigration of third world people into Europe will fray race relations throughout Europe. The same thing is happening here in this country, but America has always had a "poison tongue" when it comes to race relations.

The countries that I loved in Europe to visit, because of their racial tolerance were the Netherlands, Luxemborg, England (London) and many parts of the former West Germany like Munich, Heidleburg, and Frankfurt. The rise of the skinhead movement in Germany is a danger to the world. I only hope that influence does not make its way here to America and incite the same intolerant thinking even further. Modulis, you have good instincts. ~ Roberto

Have any of you that are involved in IR relationships ever consider moving to Europe or Austrailia? From what I hear, being in an IR couple over there is no big deal at all. And Austrailian women are known to dig the brothas. I hear that in England, 50% of black men are with white women, and I think 20% of black women are with white men. In France it's also 50% but what's interesting about France is that 50% of black women are with white men too. It's the only country where there is the same number of BF/WM couples are BM/WF. Scandinavia is also supposed to very tolerant. The only European country that I hear is pretty racist is Russia, I've heard that some places in Spain, S. France and S. Italy can be more racist, but overall, Northern Europe is supposed to be a great place for IR couples. And Austrailians are simply too nice to give anyone a hard time about who they love. It's a real tragedy that America can't be more like the rest of the world. I truly think we are the greatest nation on earth in many respects, but when it comes to bad race relations, its seems only S. Africa is worse than we are.
