maybe you misunderstood my post, but what you say about america having to change their attitudes, is my setiment exactly. i was in know way condoning the racism that exists in this country.

it is a big deal in america because of the past problems we have had in this country with the horrific racial incidents that have occured and still occur today due to the lack of intellingence and total unrelenting stupidity still held by small minded bigots who have nothing better to do than to hate and try and force their ideas on our society. in the islands, this does not exist. my family is from puerto rico and my fiancee is new york born but raised in jamaica, and is jamaican by blood. i have a very good friend from england who has a bi-racial child and she is always talking about the fact that america is racist. she, like you, also says that in england, racism is not an issue. if you are planning to move to america in the future, make sure you move somewhere that is excepting of an IR relationship. i am from new york city and i rarely, if ever, have anyone make snide comments or even look twice at us. just research carefully and you should be just fine.
