    ASTROLOGY

Astrology uses your birth date and birth place as the map for your life’s potential and path. The calendar year is divided into twelve astrological signs which represent the positions of the planets and constellations during the year, and astrologists say that the timing of your birth determines your personality, your abilities and your challenges.

Although there are generalities in the readings for each sign, birth date and time provide more detailed information. The Pisces sign, for instance, rules those born between February 19th and March 20th, but in an astrological reading those born at the beginning of that window or nearer the end of the window may have widely different readings even though they hold some elements in common. VEDIC ASTROLOGY

Vedic astrology is an Indian form of astrology that can produce very different results. Western astrology produces readings based on fixed positions of the stars from year to year: if you are born in early March you are a Pisces. Vedic astrology recognizes that as the earth circles the sun every year it changes it’s position slightly, so a reading based on birth date and place is different from year to year. In western astrology you may be a Pisces but because of the earth’s rotational location in the year you were born you may actually be a Leo.

Vedic astrologers suggest that you have both kinds of readings done to see where you fit and don’t fit in both. Here’s an interesting site with lots of good information about Vedic traditions: http://jyotisha.00it.com/bhava.htm . Ignore the design issues and get your free reading.
