    Interesting column.

I agree to an extent. I know she's focusing on the Catholic Church only, but even married priests in other religions are getting caught with kids. I wish the media would report those as vigorously as they do the Catholic Priests.

It's a sick situation that needs to be addressed by all members of the clergy. Something needs to be done to stop it all!

You right Bookie. It has become a problem with all celibate religious clerics. Celibacy is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. It can bring the best and the worst out of people. Everyone is not built for it. I feel sorry for the kids though because they are the ones that suffer the most. Spiritual abuse is hard to reverse.

..intriguing... I can remember halfway considering the priesthood in adolescence, the semi-annual pitches that were made in my parochial schools from 6th grade forward.. but the celibacy thing was too much of a dealbreaker for me.. no girls.. ever? never? eh.. of course, that didn't stop me from being celibate by circumstance rather than by choice.. a lament for another day.. ;)
