It has been the Party of the Rich for many years. The only middle class people they cared about are the Uppper Middle Class.
A great article that clearly illustrates how greed has overtaken any concerns a core cadre of money mongers have for the "good of the people". What frustrates me is the reluctance, inability, and refusal of an apparently impotent Obama and his equally reticent cronies to get into this fight and present these facts to the voting public in a coherent way that puts a fair and coherent plan in place and puts the brakes on all the blame, smoke screens, and bull manure being spouted by entrenched House and Senate members, who are also benefiting from the windfalls they've all played a hand in creating and sustaining. Defenders of the "Realm" will dispute the article as more Left wing, liberal media distortion of facts, while laughing all the way to bank... The only apparent truth that comes out of all of this is, no matter who wins the presidency, we can only expect an increase in the erosion of voice, a decrease in benefits, a growing number of jobless and under-employed slaves, an increase in the number of working poor, distortions of how well we're doing and greater wealth by the richest Americans and "American" Industries. Is there any wonder the 99% or OWS movement is angry and hanging out for the duration? And with all of the rhetoric on both sides, neither side has addressed the plight or a plan for the truly poor... While the national unemployment rate is above 9%, nobody dares mention that unemployment for African American men is above 19%. Throw in Vets returning from wars that netted us nothing concrete but the suspicions of a world who already blames us for this "New World Order", and the numbers of "walking wounded in need" increase twofold. At this rate, that Confederate Motto "The South Shall Rise Again" makes me wonder if slavery (starting with indentured serviceship) is making a comeback?!?!? If this is "democracy", I'll take whatever the alternative is... Make mine a double, straight and neat...
