has this ever happened to anyone, where you could be around other black people and they automatically assume that you only date white women? what automatically makes a brotha one for the white girls? I don't mean this in a negative way just curious how people come to that conclusion. It's like they can't possibly see you with a black women or something.

I don't know how some people come to that conclusion, but Iffy was once told the same thing. A few months ago, a woman tried to chat him up on a train, so he told her he was in a relationship and that he'd just had a baby with me. He then showed her a photo of our daughter and the woman asked if the baby's mother was white, to which Iffy obviously replied "Yes". The woman then said something about how she should have guessed as he looked like the type who dated white girls!

Nobody says that to me. At least not until they see me with a bunch of white girls. I'm usually asked,do I only date white girls? And thats usually by other women.

Taye, yes I have all the time!

bw will come up to me and say, "you dont date bw do you?" I would say sure I do, they say, you look like you only date white women.. I ask, how does that suppose to look, and they say by the way you dress, wear your hair, talk and act.

but I say, plenty of ghetto brothas dont look or dress like me but date WW? they say yeah but I look like I am one of those White people.

Another black man came up and said, "you vote Republican and date WW, because you dont wear a mustache and talk proper"

I get it all the time. Jewish and Waspy mothers tell their daughters that they can date and marry me, I dont know where they come up with that.

Tuckereed, I know exactly what you're talking about. One time I dated this one girl to find out later that her parents wouldn't even have approved of me if they didn't know I made at least 100k a year. But if it was a white guy then they could have cared what he made.

Well with her parents it was basically if you bring a black guy home,he better have money. But if you bring a white guy homeit doesn't matter. I dumped her ass after I found that out.

The racist painter that I complained about said a similar thing. "I'm not racist, but if any black man wants my job he must be better than me". when I asked him why he should be better, rather than equal as they're doing the same job. He said "Because it's my country and any black man wanting my job should be better at it than I am"!

why is he a racist? It is his "preference" to keep his country white and not give his job to a black who isnt better than him?

Preference can be a loaded word--WW love to use it when they dont want to date a black man but still not be called a racist

Yes it was her fault also. She was one of those girls who liked to please her parents. They forgot all about my race and just saw green.

well, did she let on before that she was that niave and weak?

Not really. Although I have to admit that I probably did ignore some red flags because she was hot.

what were some of the red flags, and should you have dumped her since you were dating her for superficial reasons, as well?

Some of the red flags were her talking to her mom alot. Constantly wanting to go to places with her parents. Her wanting me to buy things for her parents. I didn't date her for superficial reasons. I dated her because I was attracted to her and she shared some of my interests. I ignored the red flags for superficial reasons.

oh ok, good clarification. maybe she ignored the racism for superficial reasons too though.

I guess I am ultra cerebral and all of my gf have been friends whom we talk and really delve into the political, social, cultural and spiritual issues concerning us and so I will know who I am dating. I guess that comes from being brought up southern and getting to the honest heart of things

Who knows? Maybe she did ignore the racism for superficial reasons. I usually only delve into interests, backgrounds, etc when the relationship will get more serious. Otherwise there really is no point trying to figure out every woman I go on a date with. For the first date all I need to know is that she isn't up for any murder charges.

so you only went on one date with her and she made you meet the parents on the first date?

I went out with a girl for 4 years who had a racist mother, they claimed to be so open minded adn for equality but I could never go over to the house. that was the first and last time I did that with a woman. either we are straight up or I am not hittin it

No, it wasn't just one date. I dated her over a few months. I really don't care about meeting anyone's parents unless the relationship gets serious.

First off that is a huge clue and that doesn't only apply to dating but friendships as well. Thats why I take my time in getting to know a chick of another race more so than I would if she is black. Anyways back to the main topic, yeah tucker, I guess when people look at a black men and think of him as "non-threatening" then they think white girls would like him. I have also meet older white women who damn near recommended their daughters to me, I know my sexiness is universal ,but it seemed like they weren't intimidated by me at all.
