A standout amongst supernatural dramas out there. Season 1's initial episodes were a test of my patience, yet worth the payoff. The current season is equally satisfying. However, I'm not exactly sure if Tess and Burton should be lovers. I, as well, lean toward him with the dreamer Olivia, The Woman in Red.

Did you come to that conclusion based only off that promo? Because noting in that promo suggests that.

Yeah, but then again it is Christina Hendricks and James Lesure, two actors who have had IR love interest on screen before in the same shot together. lol.

I was right!!! With just 9 minutes remaining on the S2 finale of GA . . . a LOVE triangle has just emerged among Hailey, the protagonist, Leo, captain of the Ravens~ intellectuals and Daniel, captain of the Eagles ~ athletes. Surprisingly it seems like Hailey was swooning over Daniel during the conference championship basketball game despite Leo sitting right beside her in the stands. She only hugged Leo after he put his bid in as she left the GA despite those 3LW. Now the brotha is making his play as she departs with her miraculously reunited family (her mom was declared dead after a NASA explosion but was saved by a long-time friend who reluctantly sabotaged the launch). Hailey told her folks she'll be along in a minute and she's smiling as she turned to receive Daniel's bid . . .

. . .Daniel put his bid in alright lol!! And he didn't have to break out those 3LW as the white guy did. He took Hailey's hand as she turned to re-join her family and pulled her back to him very assertively like the Alpha male he is then . . .
he proceeded to go in her pretty white mouth:) Greenhouse Academy is trying to move up in the NETFLIX hierarchy apparently interracial has found a home!!!! Come on with season 3 of Stranger Things and more teen interracial!!!

Natalie Portman is a white feminist so it doesn't surprise me that she would do IR where it would be under that tone where the film subconsciously was anti-IR between black men and white women. Reading some of the comments on those sex scenes I heard they weren't even sexy either, probably didn't want a black man touching and kissing her like that. She is also a producer on that film, so it could've very well been her idea to treat the IR storyline in such manner.

I disagree with him on some of these including BRIGHT, because they did actually show a kissing scene and them as a loving couple in the beginning of the movie. I don't think they are going to go that route with Cloak and Dagger since they are already calling it a Teen Romance and their other programs he mentioned where I don't see this subconscious effort. Others though he is right and spot on, especially with Imposters. He missed one with Wynonna Earp.

That is why I tell people don't get that excited just because you see IR on film or on TV. Actually watch the trailer, movie or show. That is why I appreciate @JamalSpunky and @Young Herschel giving reviews on these shows and movies to see if it something we would want to watch(although they can use the spoiler tag. lol.). Pick up on these things, because Hollywood is still racist.

Some strong points in this video

I wonder if there's anything we can do about it. Outside of just stacking our money and becoming pseudo politicians I don't see many spaces for black men in this country.

This is the single funniest video I've ever seen. The music. The reverbed dialogue. Half-assed/half-baked media criticism. Hilarious.

The pertinent thing about "Greenhouse Academy" is that it is shot exclusively outside of Hollywood. The setting is Southern California, but it is shot in Israel as it is an American rendition of an Israeli teen show called Ha-Hammana or something. They flew in all these black folks to make it look like Cali lol but they also hire an ass of extras from local talent agencies who look like porn star Abella Dangers' little sisters. They have clearly taken an assertive role on promoting 12 year old girls to grow into 20 year olds with a Kardashianesque appreciation of IR lol.

I read reviews which claim that GA is racist because all the white and jewish characters are positive and only the black characters are negative but I don't mind wearing a black hat if the material evolves and is entertaining. One of the best fanfictions I've ever read on 90210 had Dixon become a hitman for a drug or gambling debt he owed and it was his pregnant fiancé Ivy who ultimately discovered that it was he who killed Teddy's boyfriend Marco as Dixon managed to convince the cops it was a gay hate crime instead. A much darker turn than the Dixon we came to know but I appreciated the twists and turns of the fan-fic (Annie and Liam get married but later get killed in a revenge-robbery) The characters on GA do seem one-dimensional early in season 1 and that's because they are . . . mid-season they become more fleshed out and much more so in season 2 to my delight.

He should have mentioned "Friday Night Lights" which was critically-acclaimed and won multiple awards but they made damn sure to put interracial in their promotional trailer but never let anyone but the white male actors enjoy love scenes and morning after glow scenes. The white athlete actors get every inch of ass on that show and the black athlete actors get NONE!!

Had no idea that the show's creator was a black guy. That is rare enough. But this same black guy/writer decided to do something even more scarce....he gave the lead role to a white actress and put her in an interracial relationship with a black male. I'm so used to seeing black men in Hollywood with creative control always giving such opportunities to black actresses (as if they are obligated to) and most of all making virtually all of their IR about black women and white men. Even black men like Steve McQueen or Donald Glover who are married to white/non-black women, tend to do films or stories involving white men and black women relationships exclusively. Its refreshing then to see a black guy say fuck that and go the opposite route.

Come on, man. That's defeatism. There are always solutions.

Anyway I must admit to being blindsided by Annihilation having that type of IR. The film has been in the can for awhile but when I first learned about the casting there weren't any black male actors listed at the time so I didn't think any were in the film. Interesting enough the black actor who is hooking up with Natalie in the film is the same guy whom I thought was going to hook up with Anne Hathaway's character in "Interstellar" based on some advanced info I got. I made a mistake by posting the erroneous info on this site. And now God has made up for it.

Based on some of the criticism I saw John Ridley get last year for his past work, it seems he's the only Black Male Hollywood Writer/Director/Showrunner who's willing to portray IR involving BM in his work.

Also the black male co-creater/co-showrunner/co-writer of "Shoot the Messenger" (Sudz Sutherland) is Canadian and according to his wikipedia page, his entire filmography consists only of canadian TV shows & films. So I wouldn't consider him part of Hollywood.

I finally took the time to watch this video & I can't help but [IMG] at what they did with "Nashville". That's a new one.

His analysis of Murder on the Orient Express is insanely clueless. If you've read Agatha Christie's MOTOE, you know the outcome and Leslie Odom Jr's character was "colorized." The writers and producers had source material to adhere to. According to dude, the ending was the fulfillment of a conspiracy against BM/WM IR relationships. Absurd.
