If a woman were to appear semi-nude or fulll blown nude in a film, but not suggesting or doing anything sexual: would you see that as degrading? Would you find it distracting if you watched a film in the same team work style as "The Avengers" or "Guardians of the Galaxy" or a TV show like "Game Of Thrones" and one of the characters looked like the images below anytime they appeared on screen: world it depend more on the characters personality?
The only people who find beautiful nude women on screen offensive or degrading, are leatherfaced feminists or closet homosexualisits A woman can be both naked and strong (for lack of a better word)
When I was younger, I was at first appaulled by nudity. Non-sexual nudity? Well, having visited a nudist camp more than once, I had learned that nudity is, indeed, sensual but not in any way sexual. I was surprised when the shows NYPD Blue and The Shield showed nudity on network television. On the soap All My Children, Susan Lucci's nipple was briefly exposed. In the sitcom Three's Company, John Ritter exposed a testicle. On PBS, the drama Brideshead Revisited showed female nudity and even a sex scene(a sketch on SNL gave the impression that PBS wasn't so stuffy anymore). Then there is National Geographic magazine. Nudity to most people(men) implies sex. Artistic nudity is somewhat acceptible like drawings, paintings, sculptings(before he went into acting, Charlton Heston was a nude model for art students).
i see no problem in nudity in general. no matter if it s women or men. it s all just ppl s thinking that make a problem out of something that is the most natural thing ever.
I think back to pin-up queen Bettie Page. She did nude portraits and fetish portaits. There were no men in the portraits with her. She was having fun. Sadly, other people at that time in the 50's thought she was a symbol of pornography. She stated that she had no problem with being nude because we are all born naked.
Pretty much A bare body is natural and represents total freedom.......society teaches us the opposite The female body comes under even more scrutiny No bare nipples....hide your cleavage...don't breast feed in public...
This so weird to me if it would be an issue. The US have no problem with violence on the screen, but G-D forbid, a naked body. Sometimes this country is so 'backwards' In many, many western world countries, this has not been an issue for decades. Its just a naked body and its should not be viewed as demeaning etc. Of course the nakedness should make sense in the story, just to clarify
Well...as long as it makes sense in the story, doctor :freehug: Seriously tho ur right......other advanced nations are like 'big deal' with nudity and condemn the USA for it's thirst for violence I have a coworker from Albania who criticizes us for glorifying war and killing....but to be fair..he treats his wife like a child lol He said if she gets out of line or argues with him, he expects her to simply shut up when he says so He's very popular with the females on the job
I think this is the European philosophy which seems to be much less stringent than the American view of nudity. I noticed advertising in Spain when we lived there, that wouldn't have been approved for the American market.
What if the only nude person is a woman. Wouldn't people complain and said "Why no naked man alongside her?"
What if the character is naked because they are a super villain (opposite to Superman) and their clothes or armor would burn of (if real science was brought in) if they traveled at high. Or, perhaps they are from a place where people do not wear clothes. Would either example would be acceptable?
well i dont really care bout ppl complaining.certain ppl always find something to complain about and in that situation i bet if there were other situations with nude men only, they d straight up ignore those and keep complaining bout the one with women only. i personally dont care if it s a women only or not. and you said in a film. i mean hey, i m watching a movie coz of the movie and not to knock my head of if or how many nude women/men run around in that movie.
