my last words for this thread...

to all the guys and girls who found this interesting, frustrating, or entertaining to read and comment on:

I really hope I didn't offend anyone with any of my comments on the actual subject. I especially hope I didn't offend the ladies because they're the ones that can be affected by this the most. If I did, or if I ever do, make a mistake, please let me know.

To anyone who thought my comments were difficult to follow:

I'd like to end on a constructive note because I don't want a misunderstanding to carry over to a negative encounter for a lady or man out there. No one deserves to be mistreated.

I think the takeaway here is not to focus on details of 'what she/I said' or 'is it rape or not' or 'what did she mean by no'.

Just being reasonable and treating a lady like a person will go a long way. That being said... if ever in doubt, or if it's difficult to be reasonable, don't end up here

Ain't nobody in jail for talking someone into sex.

If a woman decides to claim she was raped after the fact because she was ashamed or embarrassed afterwards, she's insane.

It sucks to be falsely accused of something, but you don't protect yourself from a potential rape accusation by never trying to talk a woman into sex.

There's this old queen at my gym who's a straight up STALKER. Giving dudes free gift cards to fast food spots, offering them rides home, showing them porn on his smart phone, sitting in a chair outside the showers pretending to read the newspaper, etc.

He won't pull this shit all in the same week, but he's still persistent.
Some days I won't even go at a certain time if I think he's going to be there. Mind you, this muthafucka WORKs there.

One day he tried to strike up a convo while I was drying my balls at my locker, and I straight up asked him very calmly, 'hey ____, you ever been punched in the face before?'
He stammered, said no and left me alone for six months. Didn't last.

The point is, this punk ain't EVER talking me into anything. Not possible. Not happening.

Women need to stop with this myth they were verbally coerced into sex against their will.

No means no, but generally speaking people are talking about when a man is PHYSICALLY trying to force himself on a woman, not just talking to her.

A lot of women want to totally control the way men and women interact. The funny thing is if they did control it they'd be unhappy because they want a "strong" man who takes charge. You literally can't win with some people.

What I don't like is the sliding scale.

No means no used to always mean when a man is physically trying force a woman to have sex against her will and she's saying NO.

It never meant no means no when you're trying to talk her into sex and she's not interested.

Equating a man steering a conversation with a woman towards sex as a form of actual sexual assault is crazy.

Until women flip the script and are the ones asking men out, initiating sex and proposing marriage to their BFs, guys are gonna be the aggressors in male/female social and sexual interactions.

Most women want it that way.

I think the thread was originally not about rape per se but coercion, which is a subtle and interesting topic. I'd never blame someone else for being talked into something I didn't (but kinda did) want to do. Just don't be baffled and disappointed when she doesn't see you again. It's fine that you got what you want, as long as that's all you wanted.

A man is being a creep if he's constantly trying to talk a woman into sex and she's showing no signs of being interested, but coercion is in the eye of the beholder.

Unless someone is holding your job against you if you don't sleep with them, I don't know what the hell a coercive conversation is between adults.

With the lack of sex I'm having, wouldn't have to take long to convince me lol.
