Prediction: Health Care Bill Will Not Pass

I'm going to put myself out on a limb and predict the Obama Health Care Bill will not pass this week. I think it will be his own party that will defeat it. He will not get the full 216 votes that he needs. What you think?

 

I think that the real "death-panels" are the insurance companies. I also question the patriotism of anyone who does not believe that ALL Americans deserve to have quality health care.

 

It's the old blue-collar White America zero-sum game where money will somehow be taken "from their pockets" to pay for (fill in the blank of minorities and/or other "undesirables.") Hence the Right-wing injection of the double boogeymen of abortions and illegal immigrants into the debate.

Of course, billions of tax dollars to bomb brown people in Iraq and Afghanistan in their name is OK. :roll:

We rarely agree but when we do its like your plucking the words right out of my brain karma. You're 100 percent accurate fam. My biggest pet peeve is that conservatives keep bashing the plan without any viable alternative. So let's say they get their way then what the system is still broken. The best I've heard is allowing people to cross state lines to use insurance in the hopes it'll cause more competition creating a better product but that plan is completely flawed. The left fucks up by keeping us in wars the country doesn't want to pay for. That's all the healthcare money we need right there or stopping foreign aide because American tax payers need it more.

 

Conservatives have no viable alternatives for health care. If they "really" wanted to fix the system then it would've been a priority under the previous administration.

Their plan is simple: if you get sick then die quickly.

 

Especially if you're not white or plain poor. You're a leech on the countrys resoures

I will predict it will pass. It what form, who knows. I think they will keep trying until it does pass. Have you all see what hospitals charge for services?? As somebody who works in a hospital, it is out of control!! I think they are a bigger problem then the insurance companies myself.

 

Amanda they charge high premiums but never want to pay out. Total crooks.

 

Under the existing system, you can be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition such as sickle-cell which is something that people are usually born with.

sorry but abortions are all about a woman dying, its about getting rid of a baby.

I'm surprised we haven't seen this type of false melodrama in liberal campaign ads in an effort to ram through this bill that the American people don't want.

I guess the DNC knows it would probably backfire.
