Picked these for a reason and that is mostly where my career directs me. Here's a small list I compiled:

    Denver
    Austin
    Nashville
    Raleigh-Durhram
    Seattle
    Washington DC

In my experience Denver followed by Austin. DC is cool but I was there recently and its getting to be too much like NY but instead of finance driven it's politically driven.

Denver should be at the top of your list...but keep in mind it is getting very expensive to live here so make sure you secure a decent salary before you agree to make the move...

Expensive in comparison to where though? Isn't it comparable to Seattle and DC?

I'd say Denver at the top but I think Austin may be lower but I've only visited and never lived there.

Price I don't care as much since I think I'd be compensated well working in tech and honestly I'd trade off some money for a better quality of life.

Yea and I'm removing DC due to cost of living even though I love that area.

What kind of tech stuff do you do because I know front and back end developers are popping out here like crazy and they are well compensated.

Cloud is hot. I do computer security looking at getting another cert in AWS and one in cloud security. The money is good.

I heard many great things about IR in Denver. If the women are looking fine like this:

... I may be moving to Denver.

    Best Places to Live

    http://realestate.usnews.com/places/rankings-best-places-to-live

    Denver #1
    7.8 Overall Score
    6.9 Quality of Life
    7.4 Value

    Austin #2
    7.7 Overall Score
    7.2 Quality of Life
    6.5 Value

    Raleigh-Durham #4
    7.5 Overall Score
    7.4 Quality of Life
    6.9 Value

Colorado Springs is #5 but I think Denver and Fort Collins would be my top pick.

Austin is getting more expensive but so is Denver. I can live in either comfortably on my salary but I'm at a point at what am I willing to pay for a certain quality of life.

Still curious about Nashville just as a city to live in and the vibe.

Seattle, nope too liberal for me. Also too expensive and dreary in certian seasons.

Washington DC are, nope too expensive even on six figures.

The most prominent thing in Raleigh, other than the city's skyline is the RJ Reynolds cigarette factory on both sides of I-95.

Detroit prospects are horrible, IMO.. The rebellion/riots of 1967 left a cultural chasm that has never truly recovered that much...
