    If you need to mock religious faith and believers to strengthen your own point of view, you really need to question the value of your own non-belief system.

    I agree. We should not essentially believe in not believing. That's deifying atheism itself, which is the exact opposite of what scientific atheism should mean. Strive instead for the absence of belief of any kind and seek knowledge.

    That being said, I do laugh at the cartoons sending up fundamentalist belief, because of its obvious contradictions, not the mocking of belief itself.
