These are articles about the embrace of ayn rand. Ayn rand is the author of fountain head and atlas shrugg.

It doesnt matter if you are a chriatian or not...the point is conservatives always speak of christian values but embrace a person who called jesus evil and christians weal minded. Also her ideology is very antichristian.

If people knew anything about the book of revelations and the teachings....the gop would be id'ed as the antichrist....

    Am i accurate?

    Hell yeah.

Here's a cold, hard fact. The Republican party was formed on an abolitionist platform in the 1850's and was made up of many former Whigs. It's the party that was instrumental in abolishing slavery. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president. In the latter part of the 1800's it became associated with big business and hence started getting a bad name. Then Theodore Roosevelt, on the Republican side of the family became known as the "trust buster" because of his stance on capitalist greed.
The Democratic party had existed long before and is the party that was pro slavery, Pro South, and spawned Jim Crow laws and the Klan. It continued as such through the twentieth century until socialists like Woodrow Wilson and FDR came to power with bigger government and higher taxes. Having said that, FDR with the New Deal programs was instrumental in pulling us out of the Depression. In fact the Democratic party in the south was very right wing and were referred to as "Dixiecrats" and included such members as Strom Thurmand, Jesse Helms, etc. who switched and became Republicans by the 60's when the party moved farther to the left, with LBJ's "great society".
The first African American to run for President was Frederick Douglas who actually received a vote at the Republican convention in 1888. Dr. King was another Republican. By the way there were two people who got elected to congress last week that got snubbed by the left. Tim Scott got elected to the Senate from South Carolina and Mia Love won as Representative in Utah. I wonder why there wasn't much said about them.

Lol....the thing is when you look at it..."the christian CONservatives...then you have to ask to yourselves....are you really christians?

I pointed this out and they try to justify. These are the sameones who stated "obama hates america cause he lived in a foriegn country and his family was friends with bill ayers (Who i think should be in jail from what i see).

So my point to them is if thats your logic then arent you the antichrist due to your association to ayn rand due to your vote?"

Their response is "duh....i like her capitolistic views...uuhhh....blah blah"

My response is "so you are a hypocrite?"

This is ancient history bro and has been since the 1960s.
The Democratic party has always been a split regional party, in the South they supported platforms that were opposed in the Northeast.

    Same thing with the GOP.

BOTH parties used to have both liberal AND conservative wings. Imagine that.

But in the 1960s everything realigned and the GOP became the modern Republican party when all the southern Democrats joined the GOP in protest of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which left only the Kennedy Democrats.

The GOP hasn't been the party of Lincoln since the 1950s.
In fact most Blacks in the SOuth who voted prior to 1960 were Republicans.

But when the GOP became a safe haven for all the racists and bigots who opposed civil rights and integration for African Americans, they sealed their fate as the party of exclusion, intolerance and economic inequality.

And any Christian conservative who embraces the ideology of Ayn Rand is an idiot.

If I remember correctly, Ayn Rand didn't believe in the idea of a nation-state.:-|

Typical weak comeback like you aren't on top of the issue being discussed.

Bet you know very little about Ayn Rand's beliefs or understand how conservatives have tried to cherry pick her philosophy but missed the part where she's the consummate elitist and doesn't believe all men are created equal and deserve and equal chance at 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.'

And bruh, most Black folk aren't on welfare or receiving public assistance, and most of those people DON'T VOTE.

    WTF!??

Calling the Democratic party's support of fairness in education, housing, employment, social programs that benefit the economically disadvantaged and greater diversity in all strata of American society, 'welfare candy', is not only a slur and NAME CALLING, it's un-American.

If you don't get involved with a political party through voting and forcing your demands to be heard by candidates, no political party or system will serve your interests.

That's why on occasion I've attended candidate forums in my voting district because politicians need to be held accountable locally, which is why Eric Cantor lost.

It's really stupid to argue what the Republican Party used to be.
Ronald Reagan would never be this current GOP's nominee for POTUS because he favored raising taxes and gave amnesty to millions of illegals.

Abraham Lincoln would not be a Republican today because he was an opponent of unlimited state's rights(to own slaves).

Lincoln is STILL hated down South. You'll see very few if any monuments or plaques in his honor South of the Mason-Dixon line. But you will find dozens of high schools and local landmarks named after Confederate soldiers and generals.

A conservative Black man has more integrity being a political independent if the Democratic Party doesn't fully represent his interests.

But to align oneself with the GOP knowing what that party is really about is delusional.

    Wake up.
