I think we have a conflict on what grounded is. I don't think that this is grounded. I think if you are trying to portray a black person grounded it would be him trying to get a job or having a job but having to deal with discrimination. There is a difference between bad light(thief and home invader) and struggling(and trying to get a job). One is more boring than the other..... call me crazy but I just think that I am more likely to hear of a struggle of a black person trying to get a better paying job than a thief/home invader trying

Some of the lines are not what you would have used for if that character was white. It is a question of when did they write the script. In hollywood, they do consider race. Look through some of the Sony leaks. I think you do know that they consider someone's race when casting them. Spiderman won't be black for a long long time. I know everyone including myself wants to pretend like hollywood doesn't see race and selects on talent but that's not true.

I went back to episode 3

    The lines were:

They say everyone is a little racist. If you see someone like malcolm, you make a snap judgment.

Yes, all characters are flawed. I'm not saying be an angel. I hate that. It reminds of the show called monster where the main character perfect in almost every way. Even when he cheated on the test, he cheated perfectly. and I think that was his only flaw. I'm saying that the black person can be depicted with flaws without stereotypes which they even played in. Miles morales has flaws. He gave up the spiderman suit at one point. I gave a silent NOOOOOO. He has flaws. Static(aka virgil) has flaws too. You don't need to go into black stereotypes to get at flaws.

I think the marriage thing wasn't needed. They should have just gave luke a single lady for jessica to compete against. That would have showed how competitive she is.

    Are you talking to me?
because I am complaining about negative light on black people.
Tyler Perry does exactly what I complain about.

Tyler Perry movies/shows are safe, non threatening negro fare with pseudo-spirituality. Either look at that or go to a gospel play if you want to see blacks as Holier than thou. You don't watch TV/movies to be preached to.

That's because dudes are giving it a pass for that reason in here.Haven't seen this Jessica Jones show nor do I plan to.There's plenty of porn with Bald , dark-skinned black men banging married, alcoholic, bitchy White women to look at since that's the case apparently with this show.

Dude, if you honestly believe they were trying to do an actual hatchet job and go out of their way to portray black people in a negative light, then I don't know what to tell you. Hate to tell you this but, looking for a job or dealing with discrimination isn't the reality for all black people when down on their luck in some way. You might not want to see or hear about certain negative things, but that's life. That's human nature for some people (black, white or other) when dealing with bad situations and circumstances.

Considering the main character of the story is fucked up and flawed herself, I don't get how or why you're bugging on side/supporting characters who are black not living up to some positive on screen portrayal. I get where you're trying to come from with this, but I don't see it. At all.

But the show was about her not him, it's her story why should she compete for dude?
I thought it was cool that her love interest was an actual man, not some emasculated dude who kisses her ass because of how wonderful she is. That trend is sickening. They had really good on screen chemistry talked about shit that a lot of ir couples talk about without making it all about that. To be honest the more I think about it's probably one of my favorite ir on screen romances ever

Darkseid mentioned the competition so I assumed that was why the married was added unless I misinterpreted what he meant. I really don't know why she was added. There was no point to it. You are right about it being her show. She should have had a single Luke.

so few ir superhero relationships to choose from but I'd love to see a hawkwoman/Green lantern romance in live action. The cartoon was heated.

Just for the record, the married woman in question in the show was also black. Jessica was not married

More notably, He also played a gay character on Starz's "Spartacus". So that's why folks assumed he was gay.

I didn't think Jessica Jones was going to be as adult like since it's a Marvel series. No complaints about that though. Can't wait to see the Luke Cage series on Netflix.

The series is setting her character's time with ALIAS. In the comic books during her time with ALIAS she was mostly with Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man. So season 2 would probably feature Luke Cage less.
