Jordan Peele has cast the lead role in his in-the-works horror thriller Get Out.

British comedian and actor Daniel Kaluuya has officially signed on to star in the film, which will center on “a young African-American man who visits his White girlfriend’s cursed family estate.”

Girls' star Allison Williams will play Kaluuya's girlfriend.

    Catherine Keener Joins "Get Out"
    Dec 2015

Two-time Academy Award-nominee Catherine Keener has joined Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror movie Get Out.

It’s unsure what she’ll be doing but it’s being described as a “key role”.

Sounds like she'll be playing the mother of Allison William's character.

She played Nell Harper Lee in Capote with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Yes, she's very smart and sexy.

Dude looks skinner than he did in the movie "Sicario". Looks like he did bulk up for that movie.

Do ya'll think this will only be a Indie/Limited Release movie? Especially seeing how Key & Peele's "Keanu" was a disappointment at the Box Office.

I can't see this movie being any bigger than a smaller wide-release.

Now in post-production, Get Out will be rolled out by indie horror company BlumHouse Productions. They are well known for the Paranormal Activity, Insidious and Sinister franchises.

    1. Keanu's box office makes no difference.

    2. The release would be based upon the cost. If it has a indie-like budget then it will get an indie-like release. I don't think anyone is looking at this as being some future blockbuster.

Just based on who the 2 leads are in this, this movie has Limited Release written all over it.

I hope the feature offers a smart and scary experience without any concern about whether it plays on 300 screens or simply 3. I've seen some pretty good indie movies of late.

Trailer just dropped a couple hours ago:

I'm surprised to see this movie is getting a major studio release from Universal Pictures. I always assumed it would be released by 1 of the big independent studios.

White people as the "monsters" in a horror movie, seems quite apropos these days.
