Released on a technicality, but that's over. Cosby is sucking on pudding pops again breathing free air.

 

Not a shocker Prosecutors are use to beating up overworked and underpaid Public Defenders not real legal talent.

 

There aren't really any such things as legal technicalities, though. He literally never should have been prosecuted in the first place. No doubt that Cosby is a sexual predator, but the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania got this one right. This was a pretty egregious violation of due process.

 

Reading the opinion took damn near forever but yeah, the court got this one correct. And I always wondered why Bruce Castor didn't want to try Cosby, but the opinion makes his decision seem less...insane.

 

At this point it would not surprise me if someone offers him a deal for a reality show. Mu'fuckas will tune in and watch it too.

 

Cosby was rich & well off before this whole scandal though. He own real estate properties & land. He probably doesn't need to do a reality TV.

I agree with all of this. What people don't realize about prosecutors is that they don't represent victims the way that defense lawyers represent their clients. Prosecutors represent the state, as a whole. And in deciding who to prosecute and how, they have some extremely wide latitude in how to go about it. While they will often ask for a victim's input in resolving a case, that victim's wishes isn't the sole factor. Prosecutors have a duty to seek justice first and foremost, and if that means certain cases can't or don't get prosecuted then so be it. Defense lawyers have a duty to their clients first and foremost and, outside of illegal and unethical behavior, for the most part the client decides how their cases are handled.

Plus, with the insane amount of power that prosecutors have, they have to be kept in check. Otherwise the entire criminal justice system collapses. So when the state effectively lies to someone in order to get them to incriminate themselves for a future criminal case that is fundamentally unjust. Castor knew he couldn't prosecute with the evidence he had (and with the army of lawyers that Cosby can afford, that trial would have probably been a war of attrition) so he punted the criminal case in favor of a civil one.

Bill Cosby is a piece of shit who ought to be in prison, but it doesn't mean the state can abuse its power and ignore peoples' fundamental Constitutional rights to accomplish that.

 

All that talk of Bill Cosby out of jail and the vast majority of White powerful males are not gotten a day in jail including Trump. One White male with lots of juice Weinstein is in jail. Meanwhile, Woody Allen and Roman Polanski are still scot free. You can count with your fingers if Brothers with juice who never spent a day in jail.

 

Judge Joe Brown is a little crazy though.
