What is even sadder about this is that Hayden cheated death 10 years ago. He got a second chance at life, only to have some speeding motorist end it. The loss of all these lives, in the prime of their lives, is incomprehensible.

Former NFL player DJ Hayden, 33, and THREE of his former college football teammates are among six killed in horror Houston crash after a vehicle 'sped through a red light and collided with another car'

Hayden, 33, and former University of Houston football players Zach McMillian and Ralph Oragwu were among the victims of the crash, which happened at 2am at the intersection of Pierce Street and Fannin Street.

The Houston Chronicle are reporting a fourth former Cougars football player was also killed but has not been identified.

Asst. Chief Megan Howard of the Houston Police Department said a Chrysler 300 went speeding through a red light around 2am and then hit an Acura SUV, which had Hayden and his former team-mates inside.

Investigators said that the drivers of both vehicles lost control, the SUV flipped, and four people were killed at the scene - including the female driver of the Chrysler.

A further four victims were taken to the hospital, where two more died. A female victim is still believed to be fighting for her life in hospital and another person was 'alert and talking with police'.

Local law enforcement confirmed one of the victims was a homeless man and local TV station Eyewitness News spoke to one of his friends sleeping close by.

This fatal incident happened 2am on a weekend the dead guys and one girl were having fun perhaps club hopping. Not being aware of the deadly dangers that is out there "the drunk drivers" as my friend used to say nothing good happens in the streets after midnight on a weekend. About 31% of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers (with BACs of .08 g/dL or higher). In 2021, there were 13,384 people killed in these preventable crashes. In fact, on average over the 10-year period from 2012-2021, about 10,850 people died every year in drunk-driving crashes. factual numbers mothers against drunk driving (MADD) are aware of
