Yeah, I know all about her legacy as the Mayor of Wasilla, which pretty much boils down to her decision to do away with any zoning regulations whatsoever and the resultant urban sprawl. I know about her decision to tax oil companies operating in Alaska to the hilt, which is bizarre considering all of the bitching about redistribution of wealth and "socialism" from Republicans these days. I'm aware that she sold the jet that she claimed to put up on eBay at a greatly discounted price to a Republican donor and then tried to commandeer the state's remaining Leerjet, which was actually frequently used by Alaska's law enforcement agencies, as her own personal transport. I know about her staunch opposition to receiving energy subsidies from Obama's stimulus plan despite the fact that Alaska has the highest energy costs in the nation (in spite of all of that drilling) which people are now struggling with because of the economic downturn. I'm also aware that as McCain's running mate she showed that she was almost completely bereft of the most basic knowledge of domestic and international policy and even seemed confused about the constitutionally mandated duties of the very office that she was running for.

Frankly, based on what I've observed in the last year, I can only conclude that the selection of Palin as McCain's running mate was a cynical gimmick on the part of the GOP leadership who assumed that disgruntled Clinton supporters would vote for any woman on the ticket due to their anger over the outcome of the bitter Democratic primary. In my opinion, the Sarah Palin you describe, a brilliant conservative lion who strikes fear into the heart of the left, is pure fiction. So, I'll repeat my request for you to tell me exactly what leads you to believe that Palin is in fact a savvy, ascendant Republican leader who presents such a grave danger to the Democratic party.

Wrong. I said that he had very little to do with the specifics of his administration's policies not that his administration did not have any policies. It's also clear that he was being undermined at every turn during the majority of his tenure in office by Dick Cheney who was acting illegally as a completely autonomous Co-President.

Well, considering that Malia and Sasha Obama are 10 and 7 years old respectively I would hope so because that's some serious pedo shit.

Why don't you remove your tin hat for a moment and produce some credible links to your rant which could have been cut and pasted from any of a dozen liberal blog sites?

You continue to be unoriginal, unfunny, irrational and wrong.

I didn't cut and paste anything. Most of the stories regarding Palin's tenure as governor of Alaska were well-covered during the election last year in the print media. Additionally, Palin along with fellow Republican governors Mark Sanford, Haley Barbour and Rick Perry have been some of the most vocal critics of Obama's stimulus package in recent months. Are you really denying that fact? And pretty much everyone has that woman make a fools of herself and mangle the English language in the every interview she's every done.

Tell you what. If I'm so wrong and my criticism is so incredibly silly and factually inaccurate, why don't you set aside your condescension and tiresome air of unjustified superiority and explain in plain language why you believe this woman is master politician that you claim she is?

Repost. Deteled the last one by accident when I tried to edit.

I am referring specifically to the part I quoted from you, and I didn't say you cut and pasted it, I said you could have, while wearing your tin foil hat.

In other words, you sound just like the extremists that dominate the leftist blogosphere (probably because you are one of them).

Again, show me a link that proves VP Cheney was acting illegally as co-president.

Our posts got reversed so this reads a little weird.

Look, you have clearly lost all rationale and are no longer worthy to debate. Resorting to name-calling seems to be your modus operandi, and a sure sign that you can't defend the issues.

    Have a nice day.

Debate? You're honestly making the claim that you were trying to engage me in a debate? Laughable. I've been asking you for days to simply justify your assessment of Palin as some sort of shrewd politician and you've responded by repeatedly condescending to me, insulting my intelligence and questioning my sanity. For the record, you were the one who started the name calling here. What you previously described as insults on my part were my earnest characterizations of Bush and Palin not ad hominems directed at any specific poster in this thread.

The reason you haven't proffered any real argument to buttress your claims about Liberals fearing Palin is because you don't have one. You're just repeating talking points, and you're mad because someone called you on your BS.

    BTW Regarding this post:

Since Sir Nose decided to respond to me by questioning the validity of what I wrote rather than addressing its substance, I've provided sources confirming everything that I mentioned. You see, unlike most of the bloviating Conservative jackasses out there, I can actually back up my arguments with facts.

Come on, was that really necessary? Does every black person have to be a staunch left-winger? he's a Palin supporter? So what? That's his right. Just as most of us are Obama supporters.

He insulted me. I insulted him back.

Why don't you reread my posts in this thread and point out where I stated explicitly or so much as insinuated that black people have to march in lockstep ideologically?

I never said it wasn't. And guess what? I have the right to express my opinion that the woman is totally unqualified for higher office. If some smug bastard is going to call into question my intelligence and accuse me of being a lunatic for simply repeating what should be common knowledge for anyone who purports to be politically cognizant, I'm going to push back.

I brought facts to back up my position in this thread whereas Sir Nose was only armed with nauseating haughtiness.

If you're looking to take someone to task for being out of line here, you're barking up the wrong tree.

You never said that specifically. That just seems to be a general attitude among [black] people in general and on this forum. The black men who are conservative get the stigma of being sell-outs.

Fair enough, just keep it clean, both of you.

Fine, you have that right. I just wanted to point out that he can support who he wants.

Not trying to stir up any trouble at all.

I have reread your posts and you have brought the facts. Sometimes, it just seems that there's a left-wing bias.

Agreed, but I'm not one of them. You'll never see me attempt to dictate how black people should comport themselves based solely on their race because I took enough abuse from people of all races when I was younger for "not acting black." I do, however, understand why some forum members feel that way about black Conservatives in general. It's largely due to the fact that there are many who tacitly countenance or even overtly promote anti-black sentiments and policies for their own enrichment. (e.g. Jesse Lee Peterson)

It's a bit late for that. I'm pretty sure that this "debate" is over.

As I've already written, the fact that he is a black Republican is not a issue for me. The points of contention here were his claims about Sarah Palin. I've had the same argument about her with many white Conservatives as well.

    No problem.

If you're referring to a left wing bias in my posts, then I'm not ashamed to admit that it's there because I'm Liberal and I make no bones about that fact. However, I do my best to stay well-informed and base all of my opinions on the facts as they stand.

Cool. I know about Peterson. He's a trip. I think he means well, but with poor execution. I went the conservative route for a minute because my entire life I have been searching [and still am] for my identity as a black man in America. I got nothing from being a total conservative. I may see things a bit different because I moved away from home. I consider myself moderate.

I have been ridiculed for not being enough of a brotha since I didn't and don't listen to hip-hop or because I wasn't athletic nor wore $500 gym shoes. Sometimes I may feel that I have something to prove to non-black folks, but that's false emotions getting the better of me.

I try to remember the words of Dr. Claud Anderson, smart man who knows his history. When I see these knuckleheads act a fool, It makes me sad because most of these young kids have so much potential to make something out of their lives...

I can carry on, but I'll save that for another topic.

Talkin' about me? All I was saying is that I wasn't perceived as "hip" by stereotypical standards. I was just trying to find my own niche. I wasn't "cool" because I didn't speak ebonics. I wasn't cool because I didn't know the entire 2Pac catalog front to back. I wasn't cool because I couldn't hoop. I wasn't cool because I didn't sag.

I tried the conservative route briefly, but got noting out of it. Do I need your approval? You tell me how I should be, I'll listen. Should I act like a hoodlum or a black nationalist? How about your run of the mill buffoon?
