    Jean Harlow & Stepin Fetchit?!!!

    [IMG][IMG]

    [IMG][IMG]
Stepin Fetchit (May 30, 1902–November 19, 1985) was the stage name of an African-American comedian and film actor, real name: Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry. Perry parlayed the Fetchit persona into a successful film career, eventually becoming a millionaire, the first black actor in history to do so. Unfortunately, Perry would mismanage his money and file bankruptcy in 1947.

But, before he did, he used to wear tailored suits and his Rolls Royce was spelled out in neon lights on the passenger door.

Allegedly, Jean Harlow was spotted with him on a few occassions in the mid 1930's, before her death. This information is omitted from all of her biographies but was revealed in a book on black stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

She was scandalous. Kept it on the QT and Perry did not even mention it even when he was down and out. No question he acted like a real man in the sack instead of the heavy shuffling roles he did on the screen.

I read about Ernest Just some years back. It was sad he died so soon.

True that Soul & the funny thing about is that I've heard more about her being a real freak back in the day as opposed to just finding out that he died as late as '85! For real but here's some more on her from the same source...PURE DAYUM SCANDAL EVEN FOR TODAY PLAYA!

Speaking of Jean Harlow, the new book, "Tarnished Angel," makes some explosive allegations that include: Her Sicilian stepfather (Marino Bello) beat her, bugged her for sex, milked her money and kept her in line by threatening to release porn pictures of her from her teens.
Harlow lost her virginity at 14.

Harlow was also suspected of killing her second (abusive) husband but was never charged.

Harlow was involved with Hollywood journalist Ben Maddox but allegedly shared him with Clark Gable. Although both men denied the Tinsel town buzz about their decade-long close friendship, "Harlow knew about them" and didn't mind. Maddox was a powerful figure around Hollywood. He liked beautiful women and handsome men.
Meanwhile, she openly changed outfits on movie sets, flaunting her nude body to the delight of the mostly male crews and she was said to enhance her sex goddess image by icing down her nipples to make them more prominent.

When she wasn't seducing the rich and famous, Harlow was said to walk the streets offering men money to bed her.:smt119

    Rick James & Linda Blair

I had heard & belived the rumors over the years about Rick & Linda so I did some research & was surprised to say the least how involved they really were & how she maybe could have been a catalyst to add a lot more "positive" years to Rick's life. Now we'll never know.
Actress Linda Blair (The Exorcist) came to Buffalo to see me and I was very happy to see her. A few months before her visit she had called to say that she had-had an abortion, and that it had been my child. She said she was in the middle of shooting a movie and was starting to show, and she didn't think I would care anyway.

She was wrong. I did care deeply. I loved Linda and it hurt me that she would choose to abort our child without even wanting to talk to me about it first. I still look back on her choice with sadness and wonder about our baby, and how having that child might have changed my life.
One night during her visit, I took her into the studio and we sat down at one of my synthesizers. I was showing Linda how to write a song on keyboards and I started playing. I told her that in composition you're ok as long as you keep playing. It's when your fingers stop moving that you're in trouble. The next thing I knew I was composing a tune about her called, "Cold Blooded."

"She was the inspiration for that song."

PS>More can be read about their relationship in Rick's autobiography...[IMG]:smt028

Harlow's second husband was also murdered even though it was considered a "suicide". Rick James had been with a lot of WW not only Linda Blair but,his close friend Tina Marie.

    Marilyn Chambers/Jim Brown Repost

This IR archive is of a sexual but historic nature between two legendary well known sex symbols that I thought deserved placement in the Respect Where It's Due thread.

How Marilyn Chambers Spent 3 Days With Jim Brown
    [IMG][IMG]
    In Marilyn's Own Words:
When The Owl & The Pussycat was finished, Ray Stark asked me if I wanted to go out to California and go to some of the premieres. I said, "Yeah!'

So here I was--this little hippie chick who had always wanted to go to California--staying in a suite at the Beverly Wilshire. I had no clothes to wear, but it didn't matter because I never made it to the premiere.
Why didn't I go to the premiere in Los Angeles? Well I met Jim Brown the ex football player at this club the Candy Store, and he asked me if he could take me to the premiere. I said, "I guess so."

Well he's totally against drugs and all that stuff. So I'm waiting for him to come pick me up in my hotel room--and I'm smoking a joint.
When he came to get me, he said, "You're smoking pot!"
I said "What? I am not!"

We were late to the premiere, so we couldn't get in. We went to his house instead. I was, like, there for 3 days. It was scary because he's a big tough guy. I liked him--of course I did. That was the exciting part of it.

I'm shocked that JET would have them on the cover like that. Especially back in the 1970's.

    Big-ups to Shaft though.:smt023

I also read about it in another Johnson publication called "Black Stars" back in the 1970's.

With a lot of the "venomous hate rhetoric" and seemingly negative personal exchanges in feeds here lately, this topic and the information provided is truly refreshing, educating, and enlightening. However one takes the historic information presented here, the reality of interracial relationships has and will continue to exist in spite of and despite naysayers, doubters, haters, and those who desire to trivialize/minimize/rationalize matters of the heart. Keep this knowledge flowing!
