Omg can we stop pretending we give two shits about some cloth and a racist ass song (keep ignoring that third verse).
Have you ever gone to any sports even. People are on their phones and getting food when they play the anthem. Since when does anyone respect the flag or the anthem. Just be upfront police brutality is ok with you or you don't care and dont want to hear about it.

Kneeling isn't disrespectful. Kaepernick got that idea from a veteran. They both agreed that it's a better look than sitting. As long as you're not burning the flag you're not offending most veterans. You're only offending the self-righteous assholes.

And lets be real. Even if they protested outside the league and amassed a huge following that showed some progress, a lot of the naysayers would still feel the same way and threaten to stop watching football.

And you're right. The support Kap gets from military is often ignored, aside from the initial coverage when they started voicing their support. Half the time, it's people who never even served and couldn't pass an easy PT test even in their "best" years talking about how the military was offended. Hell, there were veterans that didn't like what he did but completely supported his right to do so.
Hell, third vese aside, the song still wasn't written with us in mind. They were still enslaving blacks and driving the last of the Native Americans out of their homes. I love living in this country but that anthem means nothing to me.

And you're a service person. I wonder how the lazy and cowardly would view that

First comment, MLK Jr had a lot of help. When THE COPS put him in prison, JFK helped him out. He had the assistance of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. It is not free to travel. It wasn't done independently but with the help of many Americans. I do agree he did courageously go against the Police. SCLC purposely did nonviolent protest which is what was done in the NFL. Kaepernick has donated to multiple organizations that are against police brutality. The reason why they don't do any of that is that they don't want to lose their jobs in case you haven't notice black people are not treated well in this country and is very difficult for one to keep a high paying job. Some of them do donate privately.

Lastly, they don't use the police services. The team does. They have no say. On the real, Police are there to protect the fans from themselves(which is an impossible task and puts the police at risk) not a 6'5 man who can bench press 300 to 500 pounds. You run out there and pick a fight with one of them and you will be laid out if you are lucky and don't have the whole team beating on you.

    enjoy

Absolutely! Of course the ringleader himself who got rather good at avoiding the draft. Bone Spurs himself. Such a bullshit narrative from the bullshit POTUS.

Yup! Also... You gotta love how these conservatives and such of today are so willing to praise MLK which I'm sure is happening only because he's long gone. Glad you mentioned the police thing which is right on point.

Not at all. Her dumb ass should have just apologized and then stopped talking. All she did was make it worse for herself..

The moment you find out the head of ABC is a black woman.

So what. The corny 'joke' Tweet wasn't directed at her, nor towards black women.
It was directed only at Valerie, (and whom) she thought was White.)
Politicians get called disgusting names all the time on twitter by actors, right? She has now set a precedent - for example, Robert Deniro could now never have a show on ABC.

Calling a BW an 'ape' reinforces an ugly racist trope that Black folks are subhuman, inherently inferior and not of the same species as White people.
That belief is at the core of White supremacy in this country.
We were counted as three fifths a vote because we weren't considered fully 'people'.
We were enslaved because we weren't seen as human beings.

This isn't some random, corny joke.
    Since when is racism 'corny''??

Racism isn't surgical. Bigotry and hatred directed at any Black person is an attack against us all.

Why do you think so many Black folk cross their fingers when they hear about a school shooting hoping the shooter isn't Black??
Because we ALL know it would confirm some of the worst fears and prejudices about Black people by non-Blacks.

You need to learn the difference between outrage against a politician and insulting them and a personal racist attack against a BW who enacted no policies or signed legislation. into law

Why the fuck are you so out to lunch on this and trying to defend Rosie's actions??

Even O'Donnell herself told her fans not to defend what she said because her words were inexcusable.

On one hand you back the NFL's right to tell NFL players not to protest the National Anthem before a game, yet in the same breath you think it's unfair that another private company decides to fire an actor and cancel her sitcom because of her racist views.

ABC doesn't owe Rosie a damn thing. Stop acting like she's a victim.

    Be consistent, if anything.

Wrong Roseanne fam not O'Donnell its Bar
Bliss does this for entertainment if she dated and really enjoyed black men and by extension their moms sisters and cousins she'd get it especially after decades of dating black men. So its easy to conclude she just enjoys stirring the pot

Are you kidding me? As if no one doesn't know all you wrote.

She said she didn't know she was Black. It's fair to believe that. She could definitely pass. Her parents too.
So YES it was a CORNY JOKE.
Now of course If she actually knew she was Black or was a racist, then yes it's a racist 'joke' tweet, and totally unacceptable.
    Geeeze..stop already!

Valerie is light skinned but does not pass for full on white. There are clearly "ethnic" features on that woman. Thought she was white my ass. Guarantee Roseanne wouldn't call her worst white enemy an ape.

Not to mention, Muslims are always associated with darker skinned/black people. She knew what was up.

She is Iranian-born and a naturalized American. She speaks fluent Farsi...she looks like she could be arabic or jewish, Itslian, Greek or light skin black.

I'm not defending her if she knew she was Black, FFS, Andre!

Roesanne is an Israeli-flag-waving jew. Iran is the sworn enemy of Israel.
Valerie, Obama and Kerry were key negotiators in the outrageous Iran deal. I really think she thought she was Iranian.

Roesanne has never shown animosity or racist hate towards Black women her whole life. Unlike TDK who talks trash about BW here all the time, along with his buddies Ricardo and Flame.
