Remember the scene in the film The Brothers when the black guy has a lunch date with his girlfriend, whom happens to be white,at a soul food restaurant? And a waitress,whom happens to be black, confronts the white woman, the two women get into a brief fight and and the white woman prevails. The men advise him to get "Buffy, the Negro Slayer" out of the restaurant. Looking back at the scene amused me. I have never had an experience like that. I had experienced the stares when I was going out with a friend of mine from grade school but nothing more. She was very flirtatious and she also dressed that way sometimes. The thought of jumping into a sexual romp came into our minds but we both decided that we remain friends.
