Toho did a decent job with Godzilla during his run from the mid-late 80's thru the mid-90's. The Godzilla design that they used starting with Godzilla vs Biollante all the way to Godzilla vs Destroyah was the best Godzilla design ever IMO. They definitely should have used a combination of practical and CGI FX, especially with the head/face area for more realism on Godzilla .

The "Millennium" era Godzilla that Toho did in the early 2000's had a good body & dorsal spike design but the overall head design threw it off. Had they decided to use the head design they used for Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, minus the whited out /milky eyes that would have made for a pretty good overall updated design.

Marvel Confirms Cast & Roles for Black Panther

    from Collider.com

When Marvel Studios took to the stage in Comic-Con’s Hall H, it wasn’t just to unveil their new logo (which you can see both above and below); it was, in part, to confirm the cast of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther, starring Chadwick Boseman in the title role. Boseman was already introduced to fans as the Wakandan prince to spectacular effect in Captain America: Civil War, a debut that ratcheted up anticipation and excitement for his own solo adventure.

But Boseman won’t be going it alone in Black Panther. Marvel Studios’ chief Kevin Feige was also on hand to introduce (and confirm) the film’s cast, which includes Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, and Danai Gurira as Okoye. That’s huge news for both cinephiles and comic book fans alike, ie our beloved readership!

Most people probably recognize Jordan’s name as Adonis Johnson in Coogler’s hit Creed; the actor and director previously teamed up for Fruitvale Station as well. However, it looks like Jordan will be playing the villainous role this time around as Killmonger’s comic book history is one fraught with thoughts of revenge and plots to overthrow the Wakandan royal. Oscar-winner Nyong’o also plays a conflicted character since Nakia is anything but a typical love interest for T’Challa, being groomed as his bodyguard but also finding her affections for (and obsession with) the leader turned aside, with disastrous results. Gurira, perhaps best known as Michonne from AMC’s The Walking Dead, plays a friend to Nakia who’s also part of the clan of bodyguards for the king. But when Nakia’s path crosses with Killmonger’s Okoye’s loyalties will be put to the test. Quite the intriguing cast of characters and a solid A-list cast to play the parts!

Check out the cast in a behind-the-scenes pic from Bosemen:

I agree with that, and would most likely show up. I'm more than inclined to believe that Green Lantern will be the seventh member, but, they could include Shazam as well, and Cyborg may jump ship into the Teen Titans, sort of a mixture of what we've witnessed in the New 52 reboot and the animated movies.

CONFIRMED at SDCC : Brie Larson Is Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel

After months of speculation, Oscar-winner Brie Larson has officially taken the lead as Captain Marvel, becoming the first woman to knab a standalone Marvel movie in the studio's history. The Room star joined the rest of her MCU brethren at Hall H this past weekend, tweeting out an official photo post-panel with the caption, "Call Me Captain Marvel." While Captain Marvel isn't expected to hit theaters until 2019, expect Brie to suit up and take flight well before her own film blows up at the box office.

DC's Captain Marvel is the guy who yells 'Shazam!', hence the name change of the comic to Shazam once Marvel won the rights to the 'Captain Marvel' name. Marvel's Captain Marvel is currently a female who began as a leader of the Kree army.

The Millennium Godzilla series was impressive because of the fact that The films had strong female characters like Miki Saegusa, the only woman to start in as many Godzilla films as did actresses Mie Hamas and Kumi Mizuno.

Michiru Oshima's music really soars with Godzilla and MechaGodzilla Kiryu's themes.
Oshima composed the music for the anime Full Metal Alchemist and other anime.

This first picture here should have answered your question.

DC "Captain Marvel" aka SHAZAM fighting Superman.

Brie Larson is playing a long standing Marvel character. See Samson's post for her history and that of the original Marvel version Captain Marvel or Captain Mar-Vell as he was actually known as.

    Thanx Sampson and Orejon.

I had no idea about Marvel's Captain Marvel origin story or that there were two different Captain Marvels, DC and Marvel Comics.

So anyone get the Batman v Superman Ultimate addition yet?

From what I've heard so far a lot of story/character plot points were cut from the theatrical release that basically shouldn't have been cut. Especially story/character points regarding Lex Luthor and his motivations as to how/why he pitted Batman and Superman against each other. Also some character development points that were left out regarding both Batman and Superman as well.

The CW's Supergirl team has released a first look at Tyler Hoechlin as Superman alongside the always-hot Melissa Benoist.

What do y'all think of the newest TV version of the Man of Steel?
