    I'm currently in the process of reading Book One of a new urban fantasy series called the Knights of Breton Court written by author Maurice Broaddus. The book is titled Kingmaker and the best way to describe the premise of the series: The Wire meets Excalibur. Simply put it's the King Arthur mythology brought to life within the streets of the inner city.

    Another black fantasy writer I have run across and enjoy reading is David Anthony Durham. He has written a few historic based novels one about Hannibal Barca called Pride of Carthage, another about black settlers in the American West called Gabriel's Story and one called Walk in Darkness about a runaway slave and all that he sees and endures around the time leading up to the Civil War. His most recent works have been the fantasy epic called the Acacia Trilogy. A very diverse world with an interesting history is brought to life in this series. Books One and Two of the series, Acacia and The Other Lands are currently out and he is presently working on the final book of the trilogy. Title not yet known.

    It is sad that cartoon networks lost the rights to air this. It was an awesome anime that led to many of my nicks.
