Yeap I said Album, remember those??? LOL So you can only pick ONE... I know it's hard but which is your all time favourite. Mine is Sweetback the first CD titled Sweetback. It came out around '91 or so I think and is mostly instrumental. They are Sade's band by the way.
Yeah, they release all kinds of new albums every Tuesday. I can't have a favorite. There are far too many good CDs/albums out there. Maybe a top 5 albums may work better.
Great question Chigirl! It is hard to narrow it down...but if I was going to be stranded on a desert island and could only have one album...it would have to be Mary J. Blige "My Life". I just love that woman!!
My favourites are Innocence - dont know if you guys have heard that over there... quite an old one! Mary J - Whats the 411 album - has to be the best apart from her new one is pretty cool. Bob Marley tribute CD - remember had Joan Armatrading, Lauryn Hill etc.... absoloutely wicked CD - Lauryn Hill - turn your lights down low is my absoloute favourite tune of all time!
Ohh.. I missed the top 5.. then my next four after Babyface are: Sade/Lovers Rock Joe/My name is Joe India Arie/Acoustic Soul Tamia/A Nu Day
If i was stranded on a deserted island and had to choose one cd to take with me i would choose um, either Kenny G's breathless album (because i've always loved smooth jazz), or Toni Braxton's secrets. Toni Braxton's first 2 albums are definitely in my top five of all time. 8)
Girl now you're speaking my language. Don't make me get those glitter parachute pants out of the closet.
Here are a few cd's I can't go long without listening to: Tito Puente's Golden Latin Jazz All Stars "In Session" Chucho Valdes "New Conceptions" Chucho Valdes "Live at the Village Vanguard Poncho Sanchez "Afro-Cuban Fantasy" Johnny Cash "Songs of Our Soil" Linton Kwesi Johnson "More Time" Irvin Mayfield "Strange Fruit" Steel Pulse "True Democracy" Just about anything from The Police Sade "The Best of Sade" All of The Burning Spear's old stuff Oh, and how can I forget about Dennis Brown? As you can see, I love music with strong lyrics (even if it's old). Peace.
