Yeah, they said "house nigger" uncensored on CW. What Mayberry USA Black Edition town you live in where that's a problem?
I thought the n-word was banned from national tv period.

Is the show good or bad? I was hesitant to watch it because I get a little tired of the constant father/daughter thing, and the lack of father/son themes on television. Is it any good?

I'm watching the season 2 premiere of "Black Lightning" that aired this week......
HOLY SHIT, They used the term "House Nigger" uncensored on a The CW show!!
EDIT:
I just remembered I'm watching a pirated copy of the episode that was encoded from a digital download that came from either iTunes or Amazon Video. That would explain why the term was used uncensored. I refuse to believe they said "House Nigger" uncensored when the episode actually aired.
Fuck Black Lightning such a diagrace

Ok, I noticed it on Netflix. I might check it out.LOL. Did you finish season 1 or nah?
"Black Lightning" is a solid, good show DESPITE the annoying father/daughter thing & SJW themes. Season 1 finished strong.
Main reason I'm not into it. Its the only one that isnt coming of age and of course the black family has to deal with the fucking hood. Enough already its not our only story its boring and predictable af. Again another black hero who can't have a real love interest. BoringIs the show good or bad? Yup and honestly I'm tired of the black man can't retain his power trope. Apparently the show is for black girls so they can have itLOL. Did you finish season 1 or nah?

I see. You mention later that they take away his power or something? I’m guessing only the daughters have powers or some sort of black matriarchy trope?Main reason I'm not into it. Black Lightning doesn't have a real love interest??? What about his wife?Main reason I'm not into it. I like this show. I haven't seen the new season yet, but I think it's incredibly positive overall.
I do get a little tired of the "hood" story lines though. You definitely have a point there. Our experience is much larger and richer than just that
Speaking of this topic, 1 of the podcasts I listen to, did a recent episode where they briefly discussed how they felt Black Lightning is basically an A-Sexual character compared to the leads on the other CW DC shows (Skip to the 12:37 mark):

This episode we talk about several things, particularly my “Straight, Single and Smashing” theory of Black (and other nonwhite) male characters in action and drama movies and shows. Then we segue into the new wave of articles involving coining catchy dating trends.
I know @The Dark King & @JamalSpunky gonna love it.
I can't really disagree with their assessment. At the very least Black Lightning should've been smashing the female Vice Principal character. It always seemed like she was trying to throw it at him.
Yikes!
The series went from bad to worse.Yikes!
Bring on "Heroes for Hire".
Wow, surprising. I thought the second season was a big improvement. I hope the characters live on in other series.

His wife he barely touches? Please she's his wife in name only. And what's seriously missing is dude isn't shown as desirable he's just Joe Clark with lightning.Black Lightning doesn't have a real love interest??? What about his wife?

Good. Bad writing should not be rewarded.

They can't show black people as vulnerable humans we're ready made adults dealing with grown up problems. No angst no discovery just this "clean up the hood" trope. Like I said fuck Black Lightning cant wait to see it cancelled.
We really do not see eye to eye on these shows lol! Cool hearing your opinions thoughGood. Bad writing should not be rewarded.
Wow, that's some news. Although we should have seen it coming from the short season 10 eps instead of 13
I thought S2 was an improvement TBH. Hated the ending though. They should've made Danny get ashedThe series went from bad to worse.
