Which means that you don't know much. Really? To talk of immaterial existences is to talk of nothings. To say that the human soul, angels, god, are immaterial, is to say they are nothings, or that there is no god, no angels, no soul. I cannot reason otherwise: but I believe I am supported in my creed of materialism by Locke, Tracy, and Stewart. At what age of the Christian church this heresy of immaterialism, this masked atheism, crept in, I do not know. But heresy it certainly is. - Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, Aug. 15, 1820 This is where you really embarrass yourself, because Europe is the most secular region on Earth. Regardless of what lip service a politician may pay to religious belief, he or she knows that if you start spouting off at the mouth about the Garden of Eden and talking snakes, you're done, out of office, kaput. Like whom? Well I didn't attend a "major private institution", and had to settle for UCLA. Your uncorroborated point is what? I'll try, but you'll have to meet me halfway.
I hate to admit it, but that actually was quite funny. I'm glad it came from a black guy though.:smt045 To make up for your little joke, though, I can mention that most women here, who who actually do have children with black men, say they're excellent fathers
Apparently reading comprehension was not a graduation requirement at UCLA if you think that excerpt proves Jefferson was not a Christian. Since you know so much about leaders of major European nations, I guess it will be easy for you to name one who is not Christian.
Norway's last prime minister was "Kjell Magne Bondevik" who is a priest by education. I'm not sure if most people would consider Norway to be a major European nation though
Dude, I suggest removing your head from your anus before trying to debate me. Instead of conceding my point by virtue of the naked evidence staring right at you, you're trying to save face. You lose, get over it. "I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded upon fables and mythologies. The Christian God is a being of terrific character -- cruel, vindictive, capricious, and unjust." - Thomas Jefferson Note: In 18th century parlance, "terrific" did not carry the same connotation that it does in modern English, i.e. being considered great or wonderful. Instead, it meant terrifying or horrific, which I suppose makes God the first terrorist. Actually I don't know enough about the religious practices of Sarkozy, Merkel or Brown to say? They all claim membership in some type of church, but what does that really mean, if anything? I do know, however, that none of them have made idiotic appeals to the electorate of their countries by, for example, saying that Jesus Christ is their favorite political philosopher. Fredrik Reinfeldt may be a non-believer, who knows? I think it's best for a prime minister or president to not have to say.
Hey you all, lay off Sir Nose already the guy just came to the defense of a lady in distress. Thanks Sir Nose, I gave you a kiss under the mistletoe for this one! Anyway this was supposed to be a fun thought and seems to have turned into a theological vs science discussion and people making statements of supposed fact that have no basis in reality. At least I did say mine was a THEORY. If the Bible were more clear on things I may have a truth but at a this point it's a THEORY only. I still see it as a very valid theory and I do know what recessive genes are nowadays but no-one knows if they were always the recessive gene, sometimes overall health plays a part also I believe, and if we all descended from a black man and a black woman they would have had to be able to pass on genes for lighter colors and different eye colors. So you can't say you believe we all descended from a black man and a black woman who had no possibility of having children of lighter complexions unless you're really talking about mutation of species and that would mean that white people are somehow more advanced than black people and THAT would be racist, so I really don't get you all. At least my THEORY is based somewhat in recent scientific studies and Scripture, and not the "fairy tale of evolution"!
That's OK, I laughed too, mainly because a black man said it. One who doesn't believe in God. It was cute.
Religion is the opiate of the masses, it induces cognitive paralysis. So any conclusion you come by that is based on a religious perspective, is in it's self flawed.
