Is Illegal Immigration a Threat to the U.S.?

Actually you could say all the friction between blacks and Latinos stems, obviously, from the instigation of affluent white people, but no I don't suppose you can blame white Americans for the whole ball of wax unless someone somewhere built a secret time machine for racists.

But yes, clearly I was insinuating that Latinos are inherently racism-free, as are Black people. Goodonya for being so perceptive.

Okay, let's break this down logically:

Argument: Many Mexican immigrants are racist.

Let's take as a given that this is true.

Is much of the existing American population racist?

It would be hard to argue that it is not.

Will preventing Mexican immigration result in the US becoming less racist?

I don't think you can definitively say that it will.


Right now, the majority of power in the United States is held by entitled, rich white men, many of whom have no problem using that power without regard to the lives of people of color and women, or intentionally to harm the lives of people of color and women.

As the Hispanic population grows, people who want progress can identify and ally themselves with nonracist Hispanic leaders, uniting against the existing powerholders.

Or, they can identify and focus upon racist Hispanic thugs who have no institutional power and currently less influence upon the American public than African Americans themselves, diverting attention from other racists that are actually standing in the way of greater equality in the US.

I have no doubt that there are bastard Latinos out there making life hell for African Americans.

But I am aware that Hispanic men are getting pulled over & beaten by the police just like Black men, and their children are getting the short end of the public school stick like Black children, and Hispanic women are receiving poorer health care from uncaring racist doctors just like African American women. Without making any assertions whatsoever about how much and to comparatively what degree, it is clear that there is a shared enemy, and a shared cause, and for decades now the wisest leaders of both Black people and Hispanic people have realized this and pooled resources.

On the other side of things is the anti-immigration movement, which --while it attracts some otherwise well meaning people -- is also riddled with some of the filthiest racist twats the world has ever seen, people who hate Hispanics for exactly the same reason they hate Black people and Jewish people and Arab people. And biracial people, of course.

 

You don't know shit from supper.

 

So basically your reasons are: Mexico wouldn't do us any favors and that they are a drain on our resources?
Sounds like an argument repeated often all over the place, particularly from right-wingers. Care to cite any sources? Have you considered the counterarguments regarding what these people do add to the country?
If you can break out of your this/that paradigm, you might want to consider why these people are coming to this country in the first place. Who knows, it might lead you to question this whole nationality that got that lexington steel dildo(referred to in another thread) out of your ass.

How about an intelligient argument next time instead all this emotional shyt you always get on. The way you go on kinda makes it seem like some Mexican plugged your wife and spooged in your cereal.

 

I can understand the hostility given black-mexican relations, but I'm not quite sure what that has to do with Illegal immigration. I know ya'll aren't saying that only illegal immigrants are racist. From some of the post here, one could easily conclude that the issue should be whether Mexicans should be here at all.

They are coming to this Country because immigration laws are not being enforced.

They come to enjoy the very things they are too cowardly to demand in their own Country.

They are being lured here with home ownership....birth-right citizenship..sanctuary laws..catch and release programs...all of which mexico denies illegals.

Most illegals are uneducated..unemployed..and uninsured.

Any fool can see that has a detrimental effect on our health-care system...educational system...Job market..and our standard of living.

Mexico is the richest Country in latin america...yet...they pay hardly nothing in taxes..

We should not be picking up the tab for mexico's millionaires and billionaires.

I'm for the Mexicans who work hard to pass those tests and getting in like everyone else. The Mexicans who were cut off after the Reagan Amnesty in 86 did not learn a thing.

I haven't had time to watch it because I am busy instigating friction between blacks and Mexicans.

I think it's interesting that a few people have commented on the racism coming from Italian and Irish folks in the U.S. I am of Irish descent, and I find our history in America fascinating given current racial climates. Some Irish came to America as domestic and indentured servants. Many migrated during the potato famine and as they came to the states they endured high illiteracy rates, lived in poverty, and were blamed for high crime rates. Some even suggested the Irish be put in a boat and sent back to Ireland. Errr...does any of this sound familiar?
