The guy was arguably the worst President in American history. He's responsible for purging the government of competent civil servants on massive scale, lying to take us into a perpetual war, turning budgetary surpluses into massive deficits while looting the treasury to fund said war, presiding over one the worst economic collapses in history and the destruction of America's reputation around the world. We're going to be dealing with the repercussions of his time office for DECADES, so you'd better get used to hearing about it because a lot of people aren't going to forget about him so easily nor do they any reason to.

I get your point, but that's more of an argument based on perception vs. reality. Just because some people assumed the pittance of a tax cut they got meant that Bush was on their side didn't mean the he wasn't actually governing from inside the collective ass of corporate America for eight long years.

Relax, I will answer the question. I do have a full time job and a life, so I dont have time to sit here all day and wait for responses to answer back to. I think Barry is messing shit up with his spending mainly. It's gonna bite us ALL in the ass someday if it continues. He is spending more already than Bush did in his 2 full terms. Yeah, I know Bush spent like a drunken fool, but that doesnt mean its ok for Obama too keep doing it. And what makes it worse is that under Bush, we were bringing in more than we are now. Obama even campaigned about the spending issues. And this whole closing of Gitmo, handcuffing our troops abilities in combat, to worried about offending somebody, kissing our enemies ass and spitting on our allies, sure hasnt made us safer at all. And he has not done effective things to create jobs. More emphasis needs to go to that, rather than other senseless things. I dont expect him to be perfect like some people do. I just disagree on a lot of what he is doing. And if some of you have a problem with that, to damn bad for you. Im not attacking him personnaly, I just disagree with what he is doing, time will tell.

 

Will give you props for actually answering the question. All I'll say is you have to spend money to make money. I just think it's hypocritical that the new guy's hands get tied trying fix America, while the previous guy ran roughshod over the taxpayers.

Simply not true, his spending is a result of what's needed to stimulate our economy because the same corporate entities that got us into this mess can't be trusted to get us out because all they care about is profits at any cost.
11.5 trillion dollars was spent during the Bush Administration which includes trillions spent on a war that the American people didn't want as well as trillions in tax breaks to companies that outsource valuable manufactoring and service jobs. I haven't been able to find numbers on how much Obama has spent but I can assure you it's far less than 11.5 trillion dollars so again your statement is false. Btw let's not forget Bush came in with a 150 billion dollar surplus where Obama came into trillions of dollars defecit. Any economics or finance major can tell you the only way out of this mess is to spend money and all though I don't agree with where he's spending money at times it's definitely needed.

According to Recovery.Gov the stimulus package has created nearly 600,000 jobs. So your statement is false again.

You are attacking him because you're making judgments about his presidency without giving anything a chance to work. It's been only a fucking year. That's my biggest pet peeve with the right, when Bush was making decisions no one approved of they kept saying "give it time give it time"
I think the same courtesy should be given to Obama if for nothing but for the respect of reason and logic. The problem he inherited, a fact so many right wingers conviently ignore, can't be fixed easily nor quickly it took more than a decade to get us here. Yeah I blame the Clinton administration too because I'm fair. It's unreasonable to expect so much in such little time. As far as the economy and spending goes, what would you have him do. What solutions are the right offering. Opposition for opposition sake will not bring forth progress it only hinders us. And this is my argument for why I think both sides fail us all miserably. That didnt take long,lol. Actually that recovery.gov site has been proven misleading many times. It counts jobs retained, pay raises, and projections as jobs created. White House says its created 2 million,lol. Who do we believe,lol. We will never know the exact #'s, but all i know is that unemployment is still way to damn high. And yes, he is spending more than Bush. It pains me to see many people out of work that actually want a job. And if this health care thing goes through, where are we getting the $ for that? I stopped reading your post at the bold, highlighted text. That is COMPLETE, UNADULTERATED BULLSHIT. I hate to break this to you but the fiscal year for the federal government actually starts in September of the preceding year. Of the $1.4 trillion deficit that the Federal Government ran in fiscal 2009, $1.2 trillion was already on the books the day that Obama was sworn in. The bailout, TARP, funding for Iraq and Afghanistan etc., all of it was done when Bush was on his way out the door. I'm not not thrilled that Obama had to add $200 billion to the national debt, but a significant portion of that money was committed to what was ultimately a successful attempt to stave off the impending depression that he inherited.

You honestly don't know that Bush took us from a $200 billion dollar budgetary surplus that he inherited his first year in office to a trillion plus dollar deficit? You don't know that Congress raised the debt ceiling five times during both of his terms and that he effectively doubled the national debt in eight years and put the dollar into the toilet in the process? You really believe that Obama has already spent in excess of $6 trillion?
