Argentinian football fans are planning to target English hooligans at the World Cup in South Africa as tension mounts over the Falkland Islands. More than 300 of them are likely to be allowed to travel to the tournament after supporting the Argentine government at football games and political rallies in recent months. The controversial move has been given the green light by politicians who have claimed that they want the fans to act as 'social agents' - who instead of misbehaving at matches will then tip off police over potential trouble. The Government claims that this will help integrate violent fans who were previously alienated.

yea, thats pretty much why i decided against going to the world cup in south africa. potential for a lot of mess outside of the matches this year. but dayum if i ain't tryin to see the 2014 festivities in brazil. can you imagine the partyin down there? whoa!!

I remember seeing an article in The Wall Street Journal (Late 1980's-Early 1990's or so) where a young British bloke was interviewed about football* hooliganism. He came from a VERY well-to-do family; His Dad was a Harley Street surgeon and his Mum was upper management at Harrod's. In spite of that, he and his friends got together when football season came, and, in his words, the were 'a band of professional football terrorists'..on the prowl for ANY foreign team supporter(s) to attack 'em and get their jollies whaling the tar out of 'em.


One chief reason that I do ALL of my football spectator pursuits via telly EXCLUSIVELY!


Good sportsmanship, fair play, and camraderie....all an alien concept to 'em all...no matter what team or country they support....

The Argentines killed off the Blacks via wars in the 19th Century and used as cannon fodder. The only brothers in South America next to Argentina is Uruguay. Oh yes the Argentines built a Ben Ben type tower in the capitol city.

 

That's not really so, macaco is Portuguese for monkey, in Spanish "monkey"is "mono", not "macaco". However "itos" is the general diminutive ending in Spanish, so they got a Portuguese word and added a Spanish diminutive ending, which in Portuguese would be macaquiNHOS (little monkeys).

Black Brazilians are NOT offended by this word, we all know how they mean it, it's all football rivalry.

 

Blacks in Argentina have been bred out of existence lol, quite a few Argentines have black blood, they'd never admit it but it's true lol.
