It would appear that if there is a problem, it is that couples with children are breaking up.

As Robina rightly points out, this is not an indicator of parental involvement of nonresident parents, as there isn't any research into that presented here. What we have is an indication of how many children whose parents no longer live together.

So, if we were to properly identify this problem, it would be that British Afro Caribbean couples with children are not maintaining long term relationships.

the article was written on the reserch of how many white kids live in one parent households in respect to afro carribeen, african and mixed race children

so great theres more single parents for afro carribean kids

but still without the information on how many of those parents not living with the family still maintain contact with thier child then the argument holds no weight

see women need to choose their man correctly because if he fathers the kid as a woman you want a man who knows some sh## and have the discipline and the common sense to teach the child some real sh** and not be a bone head. just teach some basic skills to get thru life instead of learning thru trial and error.

Do you have a link to that study? I have never heard of this study. Some black men are wonderful fathers but the term "Papa was a rolling stone" applies often too many times in our community. My elementary and middle schools were probably 99% black and I can't count how many times I heard kids say I don't know my father or he isn't a part of my life. When I attended a predominately all white school in high school and I don't think I ever heard a white kid say I don't know my father or he isn't apart of my life. I don't know if it is the men just not MANing up or the women giving the men problems but the fact remains alot of BM are not in their kid's life.

 

I know quite a few people whose white father was absent from their lives, including my own kids. Some people probably just don't go around broadcasting the fact. I assure you deadbeats come in all skin tones.
