I didn't watch the video but notice on the still shot that the sign is against sodomy. Are they truly against all forms of sodomy, including men sodomizing women or just homophobes? I'd be very mildly interested to know if there's that double standard. Saty wrote it best: "backwards".

They are mainly going after homosexuality because they fear that it's a primal disease that should be eradicated. Uganda already passed a law which basically makes homosexuality punishable by death.

They're too busy seeing which gaping hole is bigger.

 

Sadly it's just a part of the culture over there, hating gays (including lesbians). It's like that in Kenya too, they just haven't passed a law. It's all very sad.

My point is that unlike you, who claim to exercise individual rights when you clearly don't, is that there are progressive minded people who do support gay rights. Why? Well, it's the right thing to do. The same applies to when blacks and women were discriminated against. By your logic, white people didn't have to care at all, right?

 

What does opening the door do? Armageddon? The sky falling? No children ever being born again? Machines taking over the world? Cats running for president? What will actually happen through supporting individual's rights? Two adults can consensually do whatever they want to each other - why is it anyone else's business & why do you care enough to want to stop it?

You need to check out this HBO documentary called "Outrage". It exposes a good deal of politicians who are pretty much in the closet.

 

The LGBT experience in many parts of Africa is no different from what you'd find in the Middle East or even certain parts of America, pure hatred.

What compounds the misery for gays is that the majority of Africa is dirt poor. The levels of poverty and invisibility for most Africans is frequently perceived as an insoluble problem (it isn't), which makes the problem of unwanted social groups like gays or child witches seem easy by comparison.

The person(s) who killed David Kato has no solution to the real problems that plague Ugandan society.
