Hello all... here's my point of view on preference. The way I see it, women really have a strong desire to be desired and wanted. Maybe not worshipped in a creepy way...(and what's creepy depends on the girl, much of the time) but wanted nonetheless. So, if I've got this particular thing for really pale skin, and it makes something inside of me go 'woooow', unlike any other skin complexion, well then the way that I see it, it would actually be unfair to date a woman who didn't provoke that reaction. Because at the end of the day, I may respect her and like her and even have a great deal of affection for her, but I can't really give her what she wants-- a man who is immediately WOWed by what he sees when he looks at her. So my going after my physical preference is not just for my own self-centered wanting to be 'wowed', but also the awareness that girls want the 'wow' from me.

For me the whole pale skin thing is part of the contrast of our bodies together. Its much more intense and passionate when it comes to my interaction and desires. I just find a sex appeal in it that peaks my interest.
You always have to walk that fine line of fetishism and your desires. For me its pretty straight up, her personality has to be one I am attracted to as well.
So even if I'm physically attracted to a pale skinned woman and she is not of the right mindset that would turn me off from her.
Its a combination of things that have to come together, attraction, personality, intelligence, interests all part of the equation.
This is why I often say we have to do what makes us feel happy, I can't go to sleep at night next to someone I'm not turned on by or feel a strong connection to when it comes to a relationship and I would hope its the same for her as well.

For me, as a European, dating Americans, I see little difference in terms of culture that matters (black vs white). Its all difference of culture any way you cut it, even being here this long.
Sure, there are things that differs.. I think bm, in general are more confident in themselves and are more prone to show their appreciation..
Granted, I think this is a matter of where in the US. I dated most of my time in Texas.... wm there certainly did not fit my European style I dont do velcro, standing by the sideline, clapping my hands.. which most of my Tx wm bf seem to appreciate. fuk that.

I dont know shit, but maybe, if you up-front are dating "IR" you drop certain walls because you realize there m i g h t me some cultural difference, and thus, keep yourself more open and more receiving... and therefor maybe you bypass the initial hurdles because of it???
