if you read clearly it was the blacks giving him a hard time. with that in mind blacks have a color struck mentality. the lighter you are the better. it has been that way for years. the closer you are to white the black would state you are better than the other blacks. It is a self hate and intraracism that has played for years. nothing new.

Throughout time there has been many things people have fought over and the fact that slowly but surely we moved passed it I hope that America can one day move past race aswell. I'll probably be dead by then but hey. Only problem is there will be something else people will dividing over. There always is.

Pardon my french but that's all horseshit. I would love to hear the speeches where he referenced his "white" family and I know some white people have and still have that fear of the black man turning on white america but those kind of irrational bullshit fears aren't soothed by him having white family members because he's seens as black period and he married a black woman and had negro kids so that argument makes no sense to me.
By that logic all bm would need to do make America comfortable with us is to date marry and have children with ww. If only they had a site where we could meet.

Where do you think this comes from? The white man. The white man divided them. The white man gave special privilege to lighter skin. The white man still is treating light skin better. It's not black folks fault this problem is exist. It's white folks that did that shit.

He specifically says his white family?
The books don't count to me since its a book but I can't see how that would be relevant in a speech and how the right wouldn't crucify him for saying that.

If you would really like me to go find these speeches I will. I know I listened to most all his speeches and you better believe I took notice. The one speech I know of the top is his one where he addressed race. But there is many more.

If you choose not to believe it so then so be it. But I know what I grew up around and I'm surrounded by. I know my own people.

No one is disputing that but that don't mean their not opening the door quicker to someone who is light skin. How is it not obvious. Just look around. Do you know why the made laws against interracial marriage? B/C the white indentured servants and the black slaves were coming together. Having children together and they started trying to uprise against the slave owner. They had to be separated from one another to keep control. The created the same mess to separate light skin from dark skin.

Dragged by who? I'm assuming his political advisor's had him do it. Whether he wanted to our not doesn't even matter. At the end of the day it still worked.

Yeah I grew up and was surrounded by your people and believe me I know them to and from everything I've experienced and have seen on white people as a whole those of you who fear blacks won't stop fearing blacks just because you find out they have white family.
And truthfully "my white family" doesn't sound like the speech of a well educated man.
I'm jamaican and I could never imagine myself saying "my jamaican family" to make a point to a bunch of jamaicans. There would be subtle hints but not that. I could be wrong but I don't get the stragety.

He talked about his white grandmother who sometimes wasn't complimentary towards blacks and crossed the street to avoid black men. Check YouTube I know it's on there.

Actually Axelrod thought it would blow up in his face. Obama wanted to do it. It was his response to the Rev. Wright fiasco.
