Hey, I'm impressed that you noticed, kiddo; I had my doubts that you would. Btw, I appreciate the laugh your other post gave me (even though I'm sure you didn't intend for it to be so funny). We need more to laugh at around here these days.
It does not matter what your opinion on the matter is, what matter are the facts, and the fact is, you're incorrect: International Comparison of Math, Reading and Science Skills Among 15 Year Olds And some other sources to peruse: http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2010/dec/07/world-education-rankings-maths-science-reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programme_for_International_Student_Assessment
Thanks. Maybe a few other people interpreted it the same way. Just to make sure we aren't misunderstanding each other, before I make a response to you addressing this post, I'd like to get some clarification. Are you saying that it makes sense that it isn't imperative to increase the amount of American-born scientists and engineers in the country? Because I read an article in the Washington Post this morning, saying that it was a problem that does undermine our economic recovery and power in the world. Edit: I just looked back, I saw what you were referring to. That's true, there are problems with the education system here. Money is definitely one crucial reason of why it occurs. A lot of things need to be changed and taken out so the system works better for us. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/29/seeking-arrangement-college-students_n_913373.html If you take a look at the link also, you'll see how and why prostitution for money also erodes the ability for women (specifically) to get educated in their professions as well. I looked at the link a few days ago, I was disgusted at what I saw.
He was making fun of the stereotype of all Africans wanting to come here. He was using satire. Sound out his user name. It's what he does. Don't tell me this is the first time you heard this type of joke about Africans right?
You're missing the point. It isn't that prostitution erodes the ability of women to get educated. It's how they are *paying* for their education. And prostitution being what it is, it's very easy to get sucked into the life.
THIS I like this and am going to adapt it and use it on someone sometime. Which was racial Paniro? Not being a twat, I actually dont know? Curious.
Satire my ass John Stewart does satire, that Maher guy does satire i know satire and that wasn't satire . Joke about Africans selling their teeth to come to America toothless i haven't heard and i watched Eddie Murphy's movie and i didn't see teeth pulling or selling
Yes, I'm aware of that. What I was thinking of is that perhaps people who are going into the college system a few years from now may be discouraged from doing so due to articles like this on the Huffington Post. People simply wouldn't go for the degrees (not necessarily because of laziness), but because they're unable to do it due to a variety of circumstances and consequences. I fear for the system by the end of this decade and the beginning of the next one.
wow ok this thread has grown a LOT since i was last on here.... i just wanted to share a little more about how my honey has been behaving himself every few days he asks what one of my parents thinks about our relationship, had i talked with my dad about us (not really but i talk with my mother at length about the relationship), do they know how serious we are. mike wants my parents to know what's going on, he doesnt want me keeping them in the dark. (along that line...i talk to my mother about this relationship a lot, because i can talk to her about anything. i dont talk to daddy about it because, well, he doesnt think it's going to last and therefore it's not worth talking about. that's just the way he is.) mike friended my mother and a couple of my girlfriends on facebook, which i thought was a very nice gesture. it showed me he wanted to keep my friends and family involved, and that he doesnt have anything to hide. money is not a problem for him: his parents have agreed to pay for his visa, and once he gets a visa he'll ask his friends for help to pay for a plane ticket to get here. he just needs the visa. and he's proven to be very patient with that; visas are thoroughly confusing and take time anyways. he knows i'm aware of romance scammers, and assures me he's not one of them (of course). he realizes that i'll need to actually meet him before i can really trust him and know the kind of person he is. there are a whole bunch of other things that i cant pinpoint or explain. i cant wait to see where this relationship goes.
Oh. HA! Still, I have to say the additional information about him wanting to connect to every man and dog in her life actually makes me even more uneasy? And if money is no issue then why is someone else footing the bill of the airfare? I dont know....I smell a rat. But for her sake I hope we're all wrong and overly paranoid about internet scammers and that it ends well for all...
Pretty Boy Swag maybe you could try the "pretty boy swag"....lol! I am sorry....that song is stuck in my head now! You will do just fine on your wittiness alone.....most likely!
true what i don't understand is why they want somebody that far away, i mean really there are plenty of straight black men right in your own neighborhood, why anyone would even bother!! Even before i was married, i had a 60-mile-rule....gas was too high and you can't do any drive-by's after a fight if they live too far....lol!
