Funny how even half the Republican Latinos who voted for McCain in 08 said they'd vote for Obama today. Looks like the only way Republicans can even make a dent with that demographic is to nominate a Latino as vice-president.

Not a surprise at all. All but the conservative, white male (working class) voter, supports Obama in this election. But still, you have to look at the electoral colleges and not just the popular vote.

This is a surprise since last time they voted more for McCain. Latinos are usually very conservative. I've yet to see any Irish or Italian out Catholic a Hispanic person not to mention a lot of them believe in that pull yourself up by the bootstraps mentality since a lot of them are first or second generation immigrants.

there's a reason Obama didn't want a federal, across-the-board immigration policy, that would mean pulling over any suspected illegals from mexico. He left it in the hands of the states, so that his hands would be clean for the coming election.

    Could you elaborate?

I think you're sorely mistaken. There is a current federal immigration policy that the Obama administration is using and they have been deporting illegals out of the states in much more rapid pace than the previous administrations.

What wasn't enacted was HIS own policy for illegal immigration, which failed the Senate back in 2010.

In the media, all focus is on "South of the Border"... and the blame on "Mexicans"....

Granted, there are a lot of "illegals" who run for the "Great Hope" north of the border....

I'm not saying Canada is an enemy, but why aren't the same complaints, focuses, and attention given to our larger, and more relaxed border up North? :smt102

Canada shares more mile per square footage of area than Mexico, but there are fewer check points and less stringent requirements to enter the US via Canada....

IMO, the "they" have sucked us into an abyss.... like a one legged person in an ass kicking contest....
