Trayvon Martin's Murder

The boy in the vid was killed in a fancy neighborhood by a white man. So how would any of this have prevented it. I am being serious.

In that particular situation I'm not sure just seems like a wrong place wrong time kind of thing. But then again I don't know how fancy that place really was since there was a corner store near a gated community. But it can just be some really bad luck. Makes me realize how lucky I was to make it home every time I went to party in those areas but then again I was with several white people never alone. So it could have been a different story had I been alone.

Trayvon Martin was only 17 years old when he was gunned down by Neighborhood Watch captain George Zimmerman. All Trayvon did was go to the store to get his brother some Skittles. Zimmerman saw an unfamiliar young black teen in his gated community and took it on himself to confront and ultimately kill him. Zimmerman was not arrested and remains free. Not only is the State's Attorney Norman Wolfinger not prosecuting, he is withholding evidence from Trayvon's family. Let him know that child killers need to be prosecuted. If he does not want to do his job he should resign or be fired!
There is resistance against convicting Zimmerman. Please sign the petition.

This is the scumbag, the state attorney.

ugh. Shit like this makes my blood boil. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy gets away with it.

Agreed. This makes me sick & pisses me off. My heart goes out to his family, & I pray they get the justice they deserve. It's a parent's worst nightmare to lose a child, especially when it's at the hands of some twisted, wanna be vigilante, trigger-happy psycho who the child had no chance against, shooting him down like he was a criminal or a dog. The senselessness & ugliness of it all is heart-breaking & infuriating. It makes a parent want to never let their children leave the house, so we can protect them from the world. May that baby RIP.

Co-sign. My heart goes out to his parents and family.

Story update from Huffpo.

Chief Bill Lee of the Sanford Police Department on Thursday evening said the account given by Martin’s family and attorney is correct, that Zimmerman saw the young man walking home from the store. He said that Zimmerman did indeed call 911 and report a suspicious person, and that he was told not to follow him.

“For some reason he felt that Trayvon, the way that he was walking or appeared seemed suspicious to him,” Lee said. “He called this in and at one part of this initial call [the dispatcher] recommends him not to follow Trayvon. A police officer is on the way at that point.”

Lee said that Zimmerman instead followed Martin.

“I believe that Mr. Zimmerman was trying to, by his account, find an address to give the officers and also trying to keep Trayvon in eyesight.”

Zimmerman told the police that Martin noticed that he was being followed and asked, “what’s your problem?”

That's when a physical confrontation ensued, Lee said. And moments later, Martin was shot.

Lee said that Zimmerman has a legal permit to carry the weapon used in the shooting, and that he told police that he shot Martin in self-defense.

“He felt the need to defend himself,” Lee said. “ I don’t think it was his intent to go and shoot somebody” that night.

The chief said the police have met with Zimmerman on two to three separate occasions, and the there investigation should be wrapped up this week. He said all of the evidence in the case will be delivered to the State Attorney’s Office soon after.

“We’re going to present all the information and if they feel that based on all of the evidence that we’re able to produce that Mr. Zimmerman has satisfied the requirement that he shot in self defense, they may, but if not, he would be charge with some type of homicide or manslaughter,” Lee said.

“It is certain and absolutely a tragedy, especially for the Martin Family,” Lee said. "No one expects their teen son to go the store and never come back.”

Yeah, it might not has been his intention to shoot the dude dead, but at the least, he had the intention of harassing him and giving him shit. Fuck this fool.

Just like not at all Black Guys are thugs/criminals.. but thats how they view us.

Stop making them out to be the good guy
That mentality shows you are generalizing....you know....that thing you don't want to be.

Clown ass mofos.

Where is all this outrage when it comes to black on black crime?

Because the gangs usually keep the fighting amongst themselves and you know why there is even more outrage than had this been another hood story. The dude's parents worked hard and got him out of that dangerous shitty situation to be harassed by a fucking neighbor just because the kid looked" suspicious" to him. Even when we aren't doing anything illegal we have to worry about getting shot? Its not fucking right.

I hope a conviction can take place next week. Lets hope it happens.

Looks like there are some twists and turns in the case.

The police said Zimmerman had a squeaky clean record but WFTV has since uncovered Zimmerman’s criminal record, which includes a 2005 arrest for resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer. The case was ultimately dismissed

The official police report says Zimmerman had earlier called to police to alert them of a “suspicious person in the area” and was told not to pursue. He complained that “They always get away,” before continuing his pursuit.

With that new bit of info out there it still seems like he is gonna get away with it because the Sanford Police Chief says "We don’t have anything to dispute his claim of self defense at this point with the evidence,"

Nothing to dispute his claim? He followed the victim, he approached the victim, and the victim had no weapon. How the fuck can it be self defense? Oh wait I forgot he's black and male he's a threat by birth. Smfh

I bet if Zimmerman gets popped, the shooter will be arrested and charged before the radio call goes out over police radio even if it was in the shooter's self defense unless the shooter is Zimmerman...... :smt071
