"It's not the size of the boat nor the motion of the ocean, it's whether or not the captain can stay in port long enough for all the passengers to get off."
We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot. ....Eleanor Roosevelt
Nice one Tam! I learned this one the hard way for real!!! It is my ignorance from 30 years ago that is slowing me from being where I want to be today. I know better now so it will not stop me from reaching my goal.
Thanks, Jay. I've had some tough less myself that threw me off course in my life, but since I actually learned something it made me stronger and better suited to reach my goals and made me appreciate life more. What's sad is when we think we have it all figured out and don't have anything to learn, especially if we learn nothing from life's tough lessons, that we deny ourselves access to wisdom. It's when we think we know it all that we don't know shit.
Words of wisdom from a friend's mama... "If you get the front of your shirt wet when you wash dishes, it means you'll end up with a jicky husband."
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop -Annon. Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation. - Kahlil Gibran
when i met you last night baby before you opened up your gap i had a respect for ya lady but now i take it all back ~snoop dogg~
"Know that we are eager to share our gifts, in the name of love. Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the dumb can understand."
That quote always makes me think of a young man who was very special to me who died many years ago. I still miss him. Yeah, it's one of the many pearls of southern wisdom, lol.
Why can't we love the right people? What is so wrong with us that we rush into situations to which we are manifestly unsuited, which will hurt us and others? Why are we given emotions which we cannot control and which move in exact contradiction to what we really want? We are walking conflicts, internal battles on legs. - Marian Keyes, The Other Side of the Story -
