Agreed.I remember seeing the child support check my mom got for my younger brother back when I was 18.It was for $800 but the worse part was that my brother wasn't even living with my mom at the time.

 

My homegirl is the same way. Her son lives with her mother...and she has the nerve to get mad when the check is late. SMH.

 

Thankfully, not all single mothers are like that. When my ex left, he suggested a child support amount that was more generous than what Domestic Relations would have ordered. We both knew, after being out of the work force for more than 10 years, that my earning power would be limited. The one condition: That I didn't go after him as he rose in rank (and pay) and ask for more. And I did not. The only time I asked him for anything was when my son needed orthodontia. We also had a deal regarding income tax filing: He would claim my son the first four years, I would claim him after that. Two of my four years, I ended up allowing him to claim my son so he didn't have to pay in.

 

I got something for them though. Can't touch anything over $130k or a 2nd job (as long as you can pay your ordered amount) in NYS. He who laughs last, laughs loudest :smt018

Well they probably want you to succeed not for you but for them because it equals more money to her, but that's fine....it just proves what she is about and what a good man you are. Could not do that to my baby's father...fuck the material things, much of that money she's living off the hogg off your back sweat could instead go into a mutual college fund for your child that can't be touched until he/she turns 18.

I spent years watching my ex-b/f's child's mother do everything in her power to destroy him, including lying to the court. Their child was well taken care of as a remarried woman, so she did this - abused the court system - because she knew she could. He hated drama, but many rights of his I had to alert him to that he never knew he had as a father. There is so much more to this story that I won't go into about her devious actions, which is why I never immediately accept that the mother is automatically the victim.

My daughter's mother at least can stand on her own 2. She's an LPN. But my son's mother...when he's grown and that $$$ isn't coming in every other week, and she has to support herself. Ooh wee! Talk about rude awakening. Her answer to that is "Noah told me when he get's older he's gonna be successful and always take care of me". My response was "He's 10, what else was he supposed to say?"

 

Not all but it would be foolish to think that a guy like myself wouldn't run into those types of single mothers.

Their puppy keeps having accidents everywhere, it's been awhile since they got the puppy now, and accidents are unevitable, but NOT ONCE have they mopped the floor. They clean up with paper towels and spray, fine... but not once have they mopped since they got the puppy (and the other dog).

I LIVE in my room because they invade everything else. I refuse to clean the living room, because none of the mess is mine. I refuse to clean the kitchen for the same reason...

My roomie that's a guy isn't currently working OR going to school, yet he doesn't even take the friggin' garbage out (meanwhile his girlfriend's in grad school and taking 16 credits...). Fuck him for being such a lazy fat ass.

 

That's just plain nasty. The pets are bad enough but not having a job or being in school yet having the nerve to sit around all day would really piss me off. I feel your pain.

 

That is the reason i don't live with people. :-?
