Why wouldn't they think yes? Our youth have grown up with this freedom of anonymous expression online. There is no filter anymore. Sure, every person (I don't care who you are or what you claim) has opinions that may push the stereotype limit, but this guy's opinion (and people like him) comes from a deep-seeded hate, he won't ever see the good in the people he mocks. It's not about circumstance with this douche, it's 'the People'. You can't break shit down to bigots. His kind is what I despise.
people of all demographics think they are privileged to do what they want. example white privilege......when affirmative action was a big talk....wp would say get the job on your own merit while they were getting jobs through "networking" and not on their own merit. black people....forget about that they civil rights movement was not just for blacks (while it was primarily) now they forget that the gays and other groups will need to get it and not be pushed aside or ignored because of demographics. civil rights benefited the disabled (whites, blacks and so on) btw....everyone is entitled to be treated humane and with diginity. he is crying only because he got caught.....nothing more
....And that he is gonna lose that nice fat pension. NYC Public servants have some of the best retirement in the U.S. Oh well......walmart is hiring.
http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/community/ff_salary_benefits_080106.shtml Lieutenant Base $94,300 Fringe (OT, Holiday differentials, etc) $31,548 Total $125,848 yeah..i'd be crying too if I just lost damn near 6 figure job
It is sad that this man has these views and he is in the business of saving lives. EMS is a lifesaving unit. Not a racist one. He was a lieutenant, a higher rank. I think the FDNY will have to do some detailed screening before they hire someone. I believe that if one is in a dangerous profession,i e, police, fire, paramedic/EMT and security, you must focus on the task at hand, doing the job, helping people regardless of race. That is what you are paid to do. This man got caught. He will lose his benefits and pension. Good. People like that should not be in these professions.
He is one big stupid punk. Does he think his racist tweets would not be found out? Lost his career because he lashed out. No synthpathy for the brainless.
I don't disagree with the bolded;however, dude should've kept his gripes in-house with those who shared his more, unfiltered, sentiments, if he didn't want to be fired.
He could care less about hard working people having their lives ruined by thugs. He got caught saying fucked up shit and wanted to save face.
Unfortunately, I doubt he will loose his accrued pension. The union is too powerful for that to happen. Sadly.
You think he should lose his pension based on tweets? I get losing his job but he earned that pension and should get it.
Logically, yes, I agree, emotionally, I don't. He is a piss ass punk who cried only for himself. Yes, he earned it but a part of me wants him not to have it, weren't it for his family, whose wellbeeing he gambled away.
I hear you, he's a total jackass but like you said other people's well being depend on him and more importantly I don't like the idea of people having everything taken away from them that they earned because they said something people don't like. If he did something then that's different but I think the appropriate punishment should be he loses out being able to make anymore money at that job especially one where that kind of attitude could make him less likely to save the lives of certain people.
I do agree, but its hard to not feel total contempt for him, especially after Hus crying fit, that we all know what it was for. But yes.
