i visited this memorial before the statue speaks volumes it not only draws attention to the Vietnam War and remembering who served; it also highlights more racial-integration within the military post WW2 (which featured completely segregated units)
.........A hole in the earth with no measure of a bottom....perhaps a mile or more straight down into sheer unexplored darkness.....
u wish that hole swallowed a three story building and KOd 15 peeps http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/01/killer-sinkholes-deaths_n_2791634.html
I didn't say it wasn't a real sink hole, but I do recall that there was some discussion that it was photoshopped to be exaggarated, but as I say, not sure. I do remember that horrid accident though.
It happened in Guatemala, South America many years ago....and is described as a very rear form of a sinkhole because the lime-rock base bottom collapse and gave-away also, rendering scientist unable to measure the depth........ To this day, they are unable to fill the hole and have cordined it off as a geological exhibit...
Of all the ground on earth...if at that exact moment you were walking over that spot... then it was your time. :smt030
