Well here's the back story on the pic. The boy's name is Diego. Meet Diego, he was from one of the poorest parts of Brazil, a country that's been ravaged by violence and drug cartels. Diego found a mentor to pull him out of poverty by teaching him the gift of music, Evandro João da Silva. This picture was taken at Silva's funeral after he fell victim to a random assault which Diego and the other kids in the program got to play at. Later Diego passed away himself from a failed kidney transplant. This story is heartbreaking, Evandro believed in making sure everyone had a chance to a better life, and he had succeeded with his program until Diego passed away as well. Life is precious, remember that.
Heartwarming and heartwrenchihg story. Good to see Evandro could be so influential to so many it would seem, before he passed. Sorry Diego passed. Beautiful story captured in an incredible photo.
Heartbreaking. You gotta wonder how we allow things to get bad like this. Oh wait I forgot we're just selfish petty little creatures who will be the source of our own destruction. Sometimes I can't wait for it to be done and over with. Especially when I see shit like this.
