I'm with TDK. If the intent was to kill someone for 'fun'.... gun was merely the tool, if they didn't have access to a gun they'd have found a baseball bat, crowbar or their fists. Edit: It's not that America is the only country in the world that allow civilians to own guns, it's just the most criticized. And when will y'all learn to ignore paniro?
I understand why some people dont like guns. I just dont understand the logic behind making gun ownership illegal for some law abiding citizens like lawyers and businesspeople while allowing police and military to have them. People are just people, a job title does not supercede the fact that we are all humans.
^ The counter is going to be why do law abiding citizens even need guns? ^ As far as I'm concerned, I just do not like the idea of this or any government dictating every aspect of my life. What I can or can't do, what I can and can't say, how I can or cannot act.
Not getting into a gun debate. It's commentary from the media here in a country that does not have guns readily available to teens who are bored
But they aren't legally readily available to teens here either. I guarantee the gun used in that crime was obtained illegally
Exactly, because they are just people, like yourself. What gives them the right to even make it a question of need? Maybe I just want it. Now why do you cops need guns? Ya dig?
I was not trying to imply that you are a cop. Anyway I certainly understand where you are comming from.
I agree that the gun was most probably obtained illegally, but again it comes down to the fact that firearms are too easily obtainable over the board. We will never agree about gun ownership as we live in two different countries with two completely different beliefs in our rights to guns. I will be forever grateful that my children nor I will never know what it is like to live in a gun state. It hasn't escaped my attention that whilst people are fighting for their right to bare arms, there are people dying every day from the same weapon for no damned reason other than there are people who can get their hands on them and have no qualms in ending someone's life, just because.
Tarshi, don't bother. Foreigners will never understand the American stance and they, not ours. I think world statistics on world gun violence speak well for itself.
Still no dice. But in fairness, we are talking gun violence here. Logical comparisons would be Canada and Europe and Australia.
For all the flack we get here in this country all our critics offer zero viable solutions. I would love to live a world where guns aren't necessary but that's simply not reality
Life was soo good before the invention of gun powder. I wonder why so many people ran across an entire continent trying to escape attila the hun? He had no guns did he?? Wait...Cain shot abel. Lets rewrite some of this stuff so that it makes sense.
I don't know about the stats. I do know that in my time on this earth, I do not know of one person in the country that i reside, who has come to a violent end of their life by the hand of another. Very true, my love And you're awesome I live in a country such as that so it's obviously possible. Again it comes down to beliefs, mind sets an the willingness for change. A debate on gun control in a country that is so entrenched in its rights to them and the fear of government control is mute.
