I realize this site does not like to touch issues that will embarress the President, but I for one would like to compliment President Obama for this year of political wars that he outwitted his opposition from the great scandels (media, NSA, IRS), the ObamaCare War with the Republicans and now the budget shutdown/debt ceiling, (which he will win). By the end of the year most will be forgotten because Americans have short memories and President Obama will be seen as the greatest President ever in surviving the political wars of his second term. Congratulations Mr. President.

With a fractured GOP, split between the "moderate" voices of the wing vs. the Teabonics-filled hard right that hate the idea of compromise, it's only natural that the party might face a much more difficult battle to win the majority influence, especially when they allow the hard right, safe-haven Reps and Senators would rather destroy the country than to find a way to get things done. Boehner isn't really a terrible representative. But as a leader of his party in the House, I'm surprised he didn't cry during any of the interviews of speeches. He didn't do a bad job, but he could have developed a stronger grip on the Tea Party wing and make them consider their options instead of holding the country hostage. Politics as normal, but we'll see within the next year. As it stands, the Democratic wing might get a boost this time around, despite the gerrymandering processes.
