The fact that people are not perfect implies that we will make some bad choices. Why should these women have other imperfect people judging them?? IMO if you eat a triple baconator you may need a mental evaluation, I just don't believe in forcing people to get one.

Citing accidents and rapes, while fair, don't begin to amount to the vast number of women who actually choose abortions as their form of birth control. I think the more difficult it is to be available (which is why I agree it should always remain an option for the reasons you mentioned), the less reckless women and men will become. It stands to reason, don't you think? (I also however don't want the reintroduction of backyard abortions, either). Look at what happened when HIV hit the sexual world..people got serious about protection, and sexual partners, to the point of a steep eradication of cases.

Honestly though, I agree with your prior post, I do think they are a cluster of cells in the first few weeks, but still, it is difficult making that decision, cells or not, so it's a hard choice to bear, which is why I am not for absolutes on this very emotional issue.

Wtf is this suppose to prove. We have prisons filled with murderers and rapist that should have been aborted. Plain and simple are you Arch gonna pony up funds to take care of these "precious" lives?

No dere, that's when the Libs step in... to feed them, clothe them, and then send the bill to the Conservatives, right? All the while telling the child, "if we had our way, you would have been aborted, dammit!"
..."Oh wait, gotta go..there's a murderer whose life I must go save from the electric chair, be right back"

Ah, both sides have it so right.

The picture is suppose to prove that people can become contributing members of society. You don't have to be as successful as Jobs was to do it.

This isn't about Dems or Reps its about progressives and conservatives and a progressive mindset allows you to think ahead. Its the mindset that asks "ok so what next" not promoting an idea without thinking what happens to the fetus after you "save" it. Address that first since you want to mock the idea of liberals providing for the child after its here what is your solution what happens next?
And what's wrong with trying to save people from the death penalty especially since we know how inefficient the legal system is. We send innocent people to jail all the time.

We don't have a system that promotes contributing to society we have a system of consumption but that's another argument. Steve Jobs didn't contribute much to society in my opinion, he was another Edison who hired a shit ton of people to figure out complex things and then presented them to the mainstream. Regardless making millions suffer in hopes of a few good "contributors" to society is ridiculous fam. And again are you going to clothe and feed these kids?

He contributed in tax dollars at the very least. He did also contribute in fighting aids.

It isn't making millions suffer. Like I said you don't need to be a millionaire. You can make 50,000 and pay through taxes to make the world a better place.

I believe that's how we all cloth and feed these kids. so I am already doing that.

It's unfortunate that some people truly use abortion as a means of birth control (especially since Plan B is pretty easily accessible and can keep women from even getting that + on the pregnancy test).

While I agree with a woman's right to choose what's best for her, I'm not *necessarily* opposed to the discussion of having measures in place to avoid abuse of the procedure. I go back and forth on that though. I think my heart and my head are in conflict with regard to that discussion!

People certainly need to be responsible for their actions, but bottom line, I just don't think forcing a woman to carry, deliver and mother a child she never wanted is the right answer.

And I agree with you that even though it's a cluster of cells in the early weeks, that doesn't make the decision any easier for most. The anguish on a woman's face during this kind of appointment says it all.

Of course anyone has the potential to be a contributing member of society, but forcing a woman into motherhood isn't the greatest recipe for success. The Steve Jobs of the world don't represent the majority

No one forced her into having sex. I am talking about your usual boy meets girl scenario. not the I rape or whatever scenario. I think that most situations where women are considering abortions is simply a support issue. That is why I heavily believe in the social net that congress recently cut down.

Steve jobs paying taxes does represent a good chunk of the majority. Yes, he is rich but again... You don't have to be rich to contribute in the form of taxes like Steve Jobs did.

Just because boy meets girl and they have sex, doesn't mean they're ready to parent. We're all human, and sometimes we make mistakes. A moment of weakness shouldn't force people into a lifelong commitment they're not ready for.

And truthfully, before that unwanted child grows into adulthood to be able to contribute tax dollars, what kind of life does he/she endure with a mother who's forced to parent? How can that ever be a good thing?

A mistake is pushing a t instead of a y on your cellphone because the letters are too close. I don't think any child born because people choose to have sex is a mistake. very very very offensive to me personally.

A man sticking his penis inside a woman's vagina isn't any where to a mistake. You are making conscious decisions. There is no moment of weakness. You put action to get there.Honestly, if you are so concerned with not having such a lifelong commitment, don't have sex or make sure you are well protected. Don't put yourself in that place in the first place.

First of all people like Steve Jobs DON'T PAY TAXES. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/20/apple-offshore-taxes_n_3307591.html
And yes by creating more unwanted unsustainable life we have more poverty more economic distress, we have more crime, we have more disease, less food , less clean water. Look at the bigger picture for God sakes.
I don't get how this isn't obvious to everyone.
Most of these unwanted kids don't get adopted they end up in foster care or on the streets then directly into the prison system. And who are you or anyone else to make decisions that you are ready to accept the consequences for?

The unfortunate thing about sex is anyone can do it. You don't need to be educated or forward thinking in order to do it. Most importantly the demographic that usually uses abortions as birth control are the under educated and/or poor and or young. So you have people able to do "adult" things but rarely have adult minds to understand what it means to do those things. There's a reason 18 year olds aren't allowed to be cops or firefighters. Its not that they aren't physically able they just aren't a point to be mentally present enough to always make good decisions.

First of all, people like Steve Jobs do pay taxes(i.e you and me). You posted an article about how a company does not pay taxes. Steve Jobs is a human being. not a company. Back when he was a technician at Atari(and not rich just like you and me), he had to pay taxes. Even Mitt Romney has to pay taxes. as the saying goes...

Everybody has to pay taxes!- Even businessmen, who rob and cheat and steal from people everyday, even *they* have to pay *taxes*!

The problem isn't the people being born it is the people hogging the resources.
I can not see in my wildest dreams Why I would need a billion dollars. When you have less than 10% of the population hogging most of the resources in the united states. Do you honestly wonder why we are the way we are today? Taxes were higher in both clinton and reagan adminstration. Life was better for climbing up(if you didn't have other restrictions). It is lower meaning rich folks don't contribute more to helping people got out of poverty. That's realistically why we are where we are. Yo are just blaming children for crap that rich folks are doing. That should be obvious. There is a reason why the occupy wallstreet came about.

Just to be clear...the "mistake" I was speaking of was something along the lines of unprotected sex...not the resulting child. My daughter was conceived while I was on birth control. VERY much a surprise, but not once have I ever considered her a "mistake", so rest assured my statement wasn't implying children are the mistake in a surprise pregnancy.

Your entire second paragraph is incredibly idealistic and unrealistic. If everyone were perfect, we wouldn't even have a need for this discussion. Pushing the idea of abstinence is just naïve in my opinion.

I agree but I don't make the rules on when one can have sex or not. This is why it important to have an education system that teaches them how to think ahead of the game so that they are not placed in such a predicament. If we had a good education system(We don't as far as I am concerned), It would likely lower the birth rate in the USA.

First off the point of the article is to show how anyone with wealth can hide a shit ton of their money not to pay taxes. I think even Mitt Romney paid around 14% where you and I pay 30 or more. And you're right the rich do hog most of the resources in this world but how does having kids by a resource strapped person make things anymore. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE CHILD ONCE THEY ARE HERE? WHAT IS THEIR LIFE GOING TO BE LIKE WHEN THEY ARE BORN TO PARENTS WHO CAN'T EVEN TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES?
    Questions like that matter.

Actually the birth rate is lower and probably because of abortion.
