It's sickening when you see something that's wrong and people try to either down play it or say it never happened. People have the never to put choke hold in quotations as if its made when the damn thing was in the ME's report and the source of the homicide. The very same people who will scream lets wait till we see the evidence will dismiss the evidence if it doesn't fit their ideology that under no circumstance can a black person be a victim. And I say that because there was nothing questionable here, the facts couldn't be any clearer.

Funny article. I bet most of us count both the FBI and Sharpton equally uncredible; most of us just assume both accounts of what happened are mostly true. lol

On the other hand, none of it makes sense. My first thought was - if the fbi version was true - that if Sharpton wore a wire with mafia bosses (his friends) in exchange for a pass on a "cocaine use" charge (not even a casual exchange according to the article) - then either the fbi story is hard to swallow or Sharpton had a terrible lawyer.

But then I realised that it wasn't the petty charge - it was the video of him using given his status. But then even Marion Barry was reelected when he got out of prison. If Sharpton flipped on the mafia for that (partying with second generation Sicilians) then he underestimated his people (the movement)

But, then, the Sharpton's story is even more ludicrous. As if Sharpton, when in thick enough to be on the mafia hit list - is threatened, he goes to the fbi for protection?! Even worse than having a bad lawyer is having bad/no backup.

What is sad about the the video is the lack of urgency once they realized he was unconscious -- it's almost like the way they behaved was, if we act cool and like its nothing serious that somehow things are going to get better or Eric was going to come to...

Im not sure the cop thought the hold would end up killing him, though...if there was a trial l could see Eric's additional athsmatic/health issue's would be considered a contributing factor once they started putting on experts on the stand .
For example, I don't know if you've seen the Gracie brothers video where they unbiasedly broke it down frame by frame 3 months ago.they said the have certified a thousand instructors...
Man I tell you, a defense attorney would probably suppoena the Gracie brothers because it's pretty compelling that it wasn't technically a choke-hold because the Gracies explain you can't speak and instantly pass out, however Eric said many times after I can't breathe after he released his arm from around his neck. So my point is in a trial it would be so dissected that there would be very good chance he would walk....but they might get contributing to the death charges or wilful disregard for aid counts ... but realistically a murder conviction would be difficult to secure. What do you think?

Lawyers know that they can't fight an expert on their on turf. A doctor ruled it a homicide and mentioned the choke as a cause. You have to be completely stupid or racist to see otherwise(I'm not talking about you bliss. You weren't on the grand jury) When you review the video, You can see that they would have gotten him down without the chokehold.

How you can't get a murder conviction or even a involuntarily manslaughter when the doctor ruled it a homicide is beyond me.
You even have a video tape. Watch holder and the DOJ run in on this. I bet they get a guilty. slam dunk case.
