It's my area of study for my program. Love that shit. Humans are very predictable in mathematical terms. Its amazing fam.
I love it because the more people intimidated by math means less competition for me. But as we expand globally Americans are going to be an incredible disadvantage. Like today I went to the Museum of Science in Queens and there were Asian families there with their 2 year olds having them get familiar with atomic structures. I did see a lot of blacks and hispanics but they were on camp trips. I have a feeling those Asians are in there year round.
True, TDK. Math isn't going anywhere. If anything, the species will need more math as we evolve and attempt to reduce our footprint on this blue ball in space. But as far as the Asian math & science stereotype/reality, I wonder if there are any studies or anecdotal evidence on the negatives that come from such discipline, focus and groupthink, i.e. impacts on creativity, sense of individuality, etc.?
basically that's why i love the internet and stay on it just reading anything of value couldn't imagine my life without it..there's so much information to be processed. this is all provided you stick to credible sites. I do like going to yahoo daily, because along with the celebrity bullshit, they also have academic stuff with pathways to more learning. basically the internet 'is' my museumrayer: as for the math..yeah a LOT of people are intimidated by it. the funny thing is tho, is that math is also very rewarding as with anything of difficulty. mastering an equation that completely baffled you in the past.....:smt003 plus careers in engineering, chemistry, IT (all involving math/physics in one way or the other), generally pay very well. shouldn't let math stop you from getting a degree in something of actual use.
