Just read where Francie said she ate cheese and sweet pickle sandwiches, and earlier someone said something about tuna and sweet corn sandwiches. Yall eat some strange sammies across the pond. So for the fun of it here goes, whats your fav sammie? If I am cooking, I will make a grilled cheese with cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts, tomato and guacamole. Yummmmm Fav sammies to eat out have to be from Central Market or McAllisters Deli.
-Ham and cheese on wheat -Pepperoni, hard salami and chicken with sandwich spread on wheat Those are my favorites right there
Hmm, my favorite sammiches are mostly fast food types because I don't really make myself any unless it's a bologna and cheese sammich. I also don't order sammiches at "nonfastfoodrestaurant" restaurants. Subway: The Chicken Bacon Ranch Sub, with cucumbers, carrots, green peppers, onions (not very many), and I don't remember what else I have them put on it (I have to see the bar of veggies to remember), besides the chicken, bacon, cheese, and ranch. I also don't like it toasted. Just put in the microwave to melt the cheese instead. Arby's: The Turkey Bacon Club Sub and the Ham and Swiss Sub. The Market Fresh sammiches are good too. McDonalds: The Big N Tasty w/ Cheese, easy/light ketcup, no onion or pickle. The Big Mac is good too. I don't really like McDonalds. I like that one grilled chicken sammich too, but I can't think of what it's called. It has chicken (grilled or crispy. I get grilled), swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, mayonnaise and the funny oblong wheat(?) bun. BK: Whopper w/ Cheese and no onion or pickle. I don't mind onions or pickles but you say "easy" or "light", they still put like 50 on them, so I just say none. I also like the grilled chicken sammich, whatever they're calling that now. I think it used to be the BK Broiler? Wendy's: Bacon Classic or Jr Bacon Cheeseburger (because I love lettuce), no onions or pickles either because, like BK, they don't know what "easy" or "light" means, so I just say none. Or sometimes, I'll just pick them off and throw the extra onions and pickles out the car window (if we drove thru), because I'm such a lady.
I stick to wholemeal bread. Carbs are my enemy in a way, most of my meals are based around them 'cause I'm a lousy, lazy vegetarian - pasta, cereal or baked potatoes. I've started making soup and things instead before I become the size of a house. I'm also making sure it's wholemeal pasta I'm eating. Grr, all this talking about not eating food is makin' me hungry.
I have been lowcarbing for oh I dunno, about a decade now. I still love my sandwiches just make sure I use whole wheat bread.
Lol they sell it in a sandwich shop here, it's actually really nice! Not on normal bread though... that would be weird.
Well i do have a 2nd favourite which involves cheese again, but this time its, Cheese, cucumber and salad cream sandwiches. oh and i cant stand soft cheese, i prefer mature chedder or similar.
Me too. So I guess I don't eat sammiches, just meat and vegetables that's on the inside of a sammich, but without the bread, i don't think it's a sammich anymore...
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I love sammiches, but I absolutely hate mayo/miracle whip/butter/etc on them. I'm not afraid to admit that I can't stand mayo!! I'm going to say that there's nothing like a PB&J sammich. YUM!! :tonqe:
Oooh, I love salad cream! Salad cream and chicken is SO good. None of this shitty pre-packed chicken, the real stuff.
