So, what are the scariest movies you've seen? I don't mean the goriest or grossest. I mean those movies that, after they were over, made you want stay in the well lit areas and close to whoever you were with! For me two 1980's era movies standout: American Werewolf in London and Halloween. There were a couple gory scenes in both but they just scared me to death!
Way back in the day the first Evil Dead movie. The movie itself wasn't scary but at the time that myself and a couple of friends were watching it, it was very windy outside and there was a huge tree with droopy bratches outside of the house. Everytime the scenes where the evil spirit would come out of the woods and attack/possess someone the tree that was outside would scrape against the window. Everytime when this would happen we would pause the movie it would immediately stop and as soon as we started the movie again the scrapping would start. Fucked with our heads it did.
when he transforms into a werewolf creeped me out big time when i first saw it, need to get the blu ray, such a great film, and halloween

True. I am a horror flick fan.. anything gory, scary etc is right up my alley and I extremely rarely get scared from them. But something about the Omen movies was creepy and it stayed w me for a long time. Same with Elm Street when I first saw it, now I think its sorta funny.
The Omen scares people because it's a little kid. Scariest thing in the world is a supposedly sweet and harmless child that can do evil.
A nightmare on elm street. By far. My sister and her friend got that movie out when they were 8yrs old and thought it was the funniest thing ever. I saw 10mins of it as I was walking back and forth past it cleaning my bedroom and couldn't sleep in my bed for a week, couldn't sleep with the light off for months and couldn't look at a picture of Freddy until I was in my early twenties. :| Yes, people, I'm a fraidy cat. Hahahahaha!! Funny thing is, as an adult, I love horror movies, but they still scare the crap outta me.
