While often seen as a harmless prank by those perpetrating it, the act can be incredibly disruptive and unsettling for residents, especially if it occurs repeatedly or during late hours, leading to feelings of anxiety, intrusion, and a disturbed sense of peace. Beyond mere annoyance, there are serious safety concerns, as homeowners might react defensively, or the pranksters themselves could encounter unforeseen dangers or legal repercussions, highlighting the potential for seemingly innocent online trends to spill over into real-world nuisance and even danger.
